Chapter 9

JJ's pov:
It's 20 minutes until I have to talk to the media and I can feel myself getting anxious
"You'll do fine JJ" Spence said not taking his eyes off of the map
"But what if I mess up"
"Just read exactly what the paper says and you'll be fine, you're not supposed to answer any questions" Spence said
"What did you find?"
"This unsub lives relatively close to the both the crime scenes, it shouldn't take 30 minutes to get to the mall from the supermarket. The unsub most likely stopped at their house" Spence explained
"JJ, it's time" Gideon said
"Good luck, you're going to do great" Spence said giving me a hug
"Thanks Spence" I smiled at him and follow Gideon, I walk out to see tons of reporters. I step up on the platform and start reading off the paper
"The person we're looking for is in their late 40's to early 50's,most likely unemployed, and has suffered a loss recently to someone important to them. This unsub was also likely to be in the military or had training to be able to use a riffle" I said professionally, the reporters start asking questions all at once
"The FBI will not be answering any questions, thank you" I walk off the plat form and walk to Gideon
"You did good for your first time JJ" Gideon said with a smile
"Thank you" We split ways and I walk into the round table room to see Spence,Morgan,and Hotch with the TA Ren. I walk next to Spence to see what they're looking at
"Did you guys narrow down the suspect list?" I ask
"Yea, Ren narrowed down to 20 suspects. By the way, you did good JJ" Spence said
"Thanks Spence" I said sitting down grabbing 2 files and start reading them
"I got him, Richard White. He's 48,unemployed,was in the military but was kicked out for harassing a sergeant,and his wife Laney White died last year in a mass shooting. They got married 10 years ago today" Spence said reading the file
"Let's go" Hotch said, they all get up putting their vests on
"Be safe" I said hugging Spence
"I will" He said with a smile, I kiss his cheek and watch them walk off going to catch this unsub. While they're gone I start doing my homework
*Ring* *Ring* *Ring*
"Hey Kenz" I answered my phone
"JJ! You're all over the news"
"I know"
"The whole school saw it JJ"
"I mean I figured, I just described a serial killer on the news"
"So did you guys find this guy?"
"Yea, they're on their way to arrest him"
"Okay, be safe JJ i'll see you tonight"
"I will, bye Kenz" I hang up the phone and go back to doing my homework, 20 minutes later Spence and Morgan walk into room
"Hey guys, did you catch him?" I asked
"No, he shot himself in the head" Morgan said, I cringe and Hotch walks in
"Good work today everybody" Hotch said
"You guys wanna go out for food at the bar?" Morgan asked
"Sure" Hotch and Gideon agreed
"Sorry guys, I have class tomorrow morning. Besides i'm still underaged" I said packing my stuff
"I have to go with JJ, maybe next time" Spence said, they nod and walk out of the room leaving Spence and I alone
"You ready to go?" Spence asked
"Yea, lets go" We walk out of the bullpen and into Spence's car
"I'm not ready to see everyone at school especially when they know i'm with the FBI" I said leaning my head back on the seat
"Well, at least you got into the FBI and the fact that you're with the BAU" Spence said
"Yea, but just think of everyone talking about us everyday of every minute" Spence laughed at me and parked the car, I take a deep breath and walk out of the car. Everyone starts staring at us and whispering things like "She works for the FBI" or "Shes the one that was on the news". I ignore it and continue walking to my dorm
"You think they could at least use their brains to move out of the way instead of standing in the middle" Spence whispered to me, I laugh and push Spence playfully, we finally get into my dorm and I plop myself on my bed
"You think unsubs could at least consider that we have places to be instead of playing hide and seek with them" I said looking at the ceiling, Spence laughed at me
"Come on, lets get started with your homework" Spence said sitting on my bed, I groan and get up taking out all of my work. After an hour of doing homework Kenz comes home
"What's up federal agents" Kenz yelled, Spence and I laugh and walk into the living room
"Hey Kenz, why are you sweating?" I ask when I notice sweat going down her forehead
"Why don't you ask your bodyguard, girl were chasing me to our dorm because he's here" Kenz said wiping off the sweat, I can't help but laugh out loud
"Seriously? Well I guess i'm going to have to run to my car when I leave" Spence said sitting on the couch
"You guys might have paparazzi outside of our dorm" Kenz said pointing at the door, Spence sighs and gets up
"I got this" He walks towards the door and when he opens it we see 5 girls
"Can I help you?" Spence asked, the girls squeal and take out their phones
"Hi, my name is Rachel. Could I get your number?" One of the girls asked
"I would greatly appreciate if you all leave us alone and go back to your own dorms, thank you" Spence said closing the door on them
"Just wait until you guys go to class tomorrow, you guys are what everyone's talking about" Kenz said grabbing food from the fridge
"Great" I said sitting down next to Spence on the couch
"I just hope to at least make it to my car tonight" Spence said, I lean my back against his arm and start doing my homework again. We all start talking until Spence's phone rings
"Reid...seriously...it's barely 7...okay where are you...i'm coming now...bye" Spence hangs up
"Who was that?" I ask facing him
"That was Hotch, Morgan is already drunk and I have to take him home because Hotch has to go home to Hayley" Spence explained, I laugh of course Morgan is drunk
"You guys want to come?" Spence asks us
"Sure, I got nothing better to do" I said standing up
"Of course! I get to go inside a government issued SUV" Kenz said excitedly, we laugh at her and walk to the door. When I open the door the girls are still there, Spence walks in front of me
"Do any of you not understand what going back to your dorm means?" Spence asked, the girls just squeal and giggle. Kenz and I roll our eyes and Spence pushes them out of our way, the girls give us dirty looks and I smirk at them
"Jeez, that's just 5 girls. Just wait until it's the whole school" Kenz said, we walk out of the dorm building and into Spence's car. Spence starts driving to the bar where Morgan and Hotch are, we all talk the whole way to the bar. Spence pulls up to the bar
"Stay in here, i'll be back in a minute" Spence said getting out of the car, we nod and watch him go inside the bar
"So, you and lover boy huh? I've never felt like such a third wheel" Kenz said smirking
"Shut up Kenz, it's not like that. We only met last week" I said looking back at her
"Yea, you guys met last week and he helped you get into the FBI, you guys basically cuddle whenever you get the chance,and not to mention you guys keep on hugging and you kiss his cheek all the time. If that's not love then what is it Jayge" Kenz said smiling
"I'm not going to answer that" I said getting in the back seat so Morgan can sit in the front, Spence walks out with a drunk Morgan and I unlock the car
"I'm fine Reid, seriously" Morgan said as Spence helped him in the passenger seat
"Morgan you couldn't even stand up" Spence said, I laugh and Morgan looks at me
"Oh, hey JJ and JJ's friend" Morgan said smiling
"Hi Morgan" I said, Kenz chuckles. Spence starts to drive to Morgans house, and Morgan and Spence bicker back and forth the whole time.
"Lover boy and his friend clearly act like they work with the FBI" Kenz whispered in my ear sarcastically
"They're professional when we're around our boss, I swear" I said whispering back, Spence drops off Morgan at his place and we start going back to our dorm, we talk the whole way home. Spence parks and he gets out first, he opens my door and Kenz and I get out of the car
"Thanks Spence" I said smiling, Kenz nods
"Looks like we're gonna have to run" Kenz said pointing at the group of girls walking towards us, we make a run for it and get into the elevator before any of the girls can get in with us
"Jeez, it hasn't even been a week of me being your bodyguard and we already have a crowd" Spence said sighing
"I don't know if i'm gonna make it" I said, we walk out of the elevator and are greeted by at least 20 girls in front of our dorm, Spence rolls his eyes and put Kenz and I behind him
"Hey! I thought I said to go back to your dorm, not bring more friends. I don't want to ask you three times, all of you go back to your dorms and be civil people, Jennifer and I are very tired and would appreciate if you all leave us alone. Thank you" Spence said firmly, they all leave to go to their dorms and I breath in relief. We walk into our dorm
"Thanks Spence, I don't know what we would do without you" I said hugging Spence
"You're welcome, come on you still have math to do" Spence said hugging me back, behind us I see Kenz smirking and I mouth "Shut up". She laughs and walks into her room, Spence and I go back into my room and start my homework again. After an hour I finish my math and Spence and I are laying down on my bed cuddled against each other watching the t.v, Kenz walks into my room
"Hey federal agents" Kenz said sitting on my chair, we all watch the t.v together until I can feel my eyes getting heavier, I fall asleep cuddling closer to Spence.

Spencer's pov:
JJ and I are cuddled up together and I look down to see JJ asleep, I smile and go back to watching the t.v
"So, how long have you been in love?" Kenzie asked
"What?"
"Spencer, i'm not blind. You look at JJ like she's the most beautiful person in the world" Kenzie said leaning back on JJ's chair
"Because she is" I said looking down at her
"You sure you guys aren't a couple?" Kenzie asked
"No, we're just best friends"
"Right, because best friends look at each other like there's nobody else in the world. Not to mention, you guys always kissing each other's cheeks" Kenzie said
"Where are you going with this?" I ask
"All i'm saying is you guys are right for each other. Like you guys met last week and now look, you guys act like a couple more than my old boyfriends and I ever did"
"She's my roommates ex-girlfriend"
"And? I've met Will before and they were never this close, they always sat a distance away from each other. JJ only hugged Will, never kissed his cheek" Kenzie said
"Just think about it Spencer, and when you guys get married I will be in up all in your face saying "I told you so". What's your friends phone number by the way, I need to have a serious talk with him" Kenzie said, I give her Morgans number
"Well, i'm going to go Kenzie. I'll see you tomorrow morning" I said, I get up and kiss JJ's head. I turn around to see Kenzie smirking at me, I roll my eyes and walk to the door
"Bye Spencer" She said, I nod my head and walk to my car. I drive home and the whole time I think about what Kenzie was saying, do JJ and I really act like a couple? I mean we're just best friends, right? I get to my house and see Wills car not here, probably at Kaylas house. I shower and change, JJ and I together? We just met last week, there's no way she likes me. I sigh and get into bed staring at the ceiling, I eventually fall asleep thinking about JJ and I.
