AN: I apologise for the delay!

"Guren, stop running!"

The floor let out thud after thud as his father drew nearer and nearer.

"I don't want to go!" He yelled, unwilling to listen to the man's words.

An exasperated breath was all that he heard, before arms came to circle around his middle. Futilely, he thrashed around, but he couldn't move an inch.

"Please..." His father softly said, "I know you don't want to leave, but we have to."

They had to? Why did they have to? He didn't want to go... He wanted to stay where they were! If they left, then-!

"No!" Still, he struggled to break free of the arms around him, "I like it here! Mom likes it here! Do you not like it here?!" He grabbed hold of his father's hands and gripped them as hard as he could, yet they didn't budge.

Instead, he felt warmth spread through his back, "I like it here... very, very much."

"Then why do we have to go?!"

His father's heard drummed against his spine in rhythmic beats, "You'll find out when you're older."

When he was older...?

"Why not now? Why can't you tell me now?" Faintly, he felt the arms around him grow loose and he immediately used that opportunity to break free and run forward. He almost slipped, but managed to keep his balance. With grit teeth, he whipped back around and stared straight at his father, "I am not a child!"

The pure... redness of his father's clothing was off-putting to Guren. Somehow, it looked like it didn't belong in the house they currently lived in. It was too... different.

"Because I want you to live like a child should, without worry..." The golden hues in his father's eyes overlapped under the yellowish-orange light of the candles, "Because you are just a child, too young to understand what is happening around you."

What was happening around him? What was happening around him?! How could he know he wouldn't understand when he didn't even bother telling him anything?! They were doing fine! They were happy! Mother was happy!

He didn't want to move away!

"I understand why you don't want to move, I really do, but, Guren, sometimes we have no choice."

No choice. No choice. No choice. No choice. No choice.

They had... no choice?

"What about mom...?"

Not even a moment later, another voice spoke up, "What about me?"

Almost immediately, Guren looked behind himself and met eyes with none other than his mother, "Mom!" As soon as that exclamation left his mouth, he charged forward and wrapped his arms around the woman's middle, "Dad wants to make us move!"

Fingers gently threaded through his hair and he further leaned forward into her, "Guren..." The moment she said his name, he knew something was wrong. He glanced up at her, just in time to see her expression shift, "I'm... sorry, but we do have to move."

That was something he didn't expect to hear, especially from her.

"Guren," Came his father's voice from the back, "I'm sorry, but I will not change my mind."

Pulling away from his mother, Guren took a few steps back, coming to a stop right between his parents.

"Everything is going to be all right, darling," The fleeting silver in his mother's eyes gave off the same golden hue as his father's, "I know you don't want to leave because you've made a lot of friends, but new friends can be made, can't they?"
