The next morning, Sa-Alti found herself at Jyaret's door. The servants told her that he had not answered the door for dinner the previous night and she needed to check up on him.

She would not put it past him to try to escape.

She only knocked a few times before the door unceremoniously swung open. A very groggy Jyaret stared back at her.

“What is it?” His voice was throaty from sleep.

“Well, I just came to check on you. I heard you did not have dinner yesterday.”

He momentarily yawned and stretched his arms out leaving his well sculpted form exposed to her. Sa-Alti swallowed.

“I was tired. I fell straight into bed.”

“Oh. You did not strike me as such a heavy sleeper.”

“Hmm,” he merely grunted.

They stood for a while, looking at each other in awkward silence. Finally, she broke it.

“I think we should both freshen up. Would you like to eat breakfast in your room?”

“Yes, thank you.”

How unexpected, she thought. Shrugging it  off, she went on.

“Afterwards, you can come to my room. We will need to discuss privately.”

Her statement seemed to shock him and he stared her up and down with his brow raised.

“What is it?”

“Nothing. You are a rather trusting person, Sa-Alti. A Queen inviting a total stranger into her room. Is that not reckless?”

“Well, do you seek to do me harm?”

His brows raised. “No.”

“Then I have no reason to fear you.”

“Do you take everyone at their word?”

She smiled. “When I have to, yes.” She paused to lock eyes with him, “I only hope that they extend the same courtesy to me.”

Jyaret stared after her as she left. This Sa-Alti was more interesting than he had presumed.
