Day 4

Echo's POV
January 18th, Wednesday

I'm awakened by the bright rays of the sun coming through the window and hitting me in the eyes. I push myself into a sitting position on my bed. I yawn while opening my eyes. I look around the room and see Kai with his back facing me.

"What time is it?" I ask him. He doesn't answer. I roll my eyes and mumble jerk under my breath. He must have heard me since he shifted in the seat turning to face me with a deadpan expression.

I make direct eye contact with him and hold it. He eventually looks away annoyed. So something is definitely still in your butt making you all childish and stuff. If he really wants to be like that then whatever.

I pick up my phone, looking at the time, and seeing Evie called me. I sigh when I look back at the time, '1:06 PM'. It's so late. Maybe I should've only taken one.

"I'm assuming that I have to make my own food from now on?" I ask even though I already know the answer.

"Yup," he answers emotionless, as I had expected.

I finished making myself a PB&J and sat on my bed to eat it. I grab my phone from the nightstand where I had set it down when I had gotten up. I go into my contacts and hit the call button. The phone rings a bit before she picks up.

"Hey! I called you at 10, but you didn't answer!" Evie whines into the phone. I laugh.

"Calm down tiger! I took two pills and they knocked me out." I say while taking a bite of my sandwich. I look at the corner of my eye and see Kai looking for something. I look at the desk and see a pencil and pen.

"The paper is in the bin over there," I say while holding the phone away from my face. Kai looks at me and nods a bit. Wow! He didn't glare! I'm shocked!

"Oh. First, why did you take two, and second, who are you talking to?" Evie asks confused. I don't pay attention to Kai as he picks up the paper that's sitting on top of the pile of paper. He reads it over, his eyes widen in shock before he sighs at how stupid he was to jump to conclusions

"The other day I forgot to take my sleeping pill, so I ended up staying up all night, and second, Clover University had a glitch in their locking system, so now I'm locked in my dorm with one of Izzy's friends," I tell her as my eyes travel over to Kai who is standing in front of the bin with his back facing me.

"Oh. Well then. Let me know when you get out. I wanna give you a new book!" Evie says excitedly. I chuckle at her excitement.

"By the way, I read 'Flipped'. K bye! Love you!" I say quickly and hang up before she could squeal. I huff in exhaustion.

I look back up at where Kai is. He still stands in the exact same spot. My eyebrows furrow in confusion. Can he not find the paper? Did Izzy move the paper?

"Did you find the paper?" I ask him.

He slowly turns around holding a single piece of small paper. His face shows regret and sadness. I get up from my bed and walk over to him, pulling the paper from his hands. I look down at the paper, immediately recognizing it. I sigh.

"Is my sleeping pills the reason you were acting like a total jerk?" I ask him. He sighs and nods his head slowly while looking down at the ground, not meeting my eyes. I look at him for a bit before bursting into a fit of laughs and giggles.

He looks at me confused as I hold my stomach while grabbing his arm so that I don't fall on the ground from laughing so hard. I finally get myself to stop laughing. I wipe the tears that had come out of my eyes.
