9:32 AMEcho's POV
January 20th, FridayI shift in bed but feel something weighing my body down. I open my eyes slowly, letting them adjust. But all I see is darkness. I close my eyes again, trying to remember what happened last night. Memories of Kai and I watching a movie, to then him cuddling me rush to my brain. My eyes fly open when I realize that the thing weighing me down is indeed another human, named Kai Wells.
I squirm in his hold. He starts waking up while loosening his arms slightly. I move my head back a bit so I can see him properly. His sleepy face comes into view. He looks down at me. A tired smile appears on his face.
"Morning beautiful!" He whispers with his husky morning. He pulls me closer so that my face is inches from his.
A smile breaks onto my face. His smile widens. I'm about to break this boys' happy bubble.
"Kai?" I whisper while looking into his eyes.
"Yes Echo?"
"Your breath smells like a cat peed in it!" I say with a grin. His smile drops into a thin line.
Next thing I know, he's grabbing my face with his hands and breathing in my face. I squeal and squirm in his grip. I finally manage to get away from him as I bunny hop for my life off the bed. I land on my butt on the floor. Kai burst into a belly-aching laugh as it echos through the room. I stand up rubbing my butt where I had hit it the hardest.
"Not funny!" I seeth as I glare holes into him. He pretends to zip his mouth closed with a fake zipper. But it doesn't work cause he starts laughing again. I walk over to him and punch his arm playfully.
"Ok ok. But does my breath really smell like a cat peed in it?" He asks with a serious face. I shrug with a playful smile.
"Check yourself if you don't believe me," I answer. He puts his hand over his mouth and blows into it. His eyes widen as he quickly gets up and runs to the bathroom, shutting the door behind. I laugh loudly.
I walk over to my small bookcase and look through the books. My eyes land on the "The 100" series books. Evie gifted these to me when I got my job at the music store. She knows I love Sci-fi stuff. Plus I love the TV series of "The 100" as well. Sadly season 7 is their last season. :(
I grab the first book in the series and carry it to my bed. I'm definitely going to have a headache after this. I scoot into the corner of my bed with the book in my hands.
The sound of the bathroom door opening made me snap my eyes up. Kai comes into sight. He looks at the book in my hand before making eye contact with me. A curious glint in his eyes catches my attention. He walks over to my bed, plopping down in front of me.
"What yuh reading?" He asks while poking at my book.
"The first book in the "The 100" series. The last season of the TV series just ended, so I thought I'd read the original book version of it that my sister gifted to me." I respond.
"I've never seen it..." Kai says scratching the back of my head. I squint my eyes at him.
"You wanna watch it?" I smirk with my eyebrows raised. He nods his head rapidly.
I bring out my laptop again and go on Netflix to "The 100". He scoots behind me as I lay between his legs with my back rested on his chest. I put the pillow on my legs before setting the laptop on it. I hit the play button on the first season.
Kai kept his eyes glued to the screen the entire time. By the time we finished watching the 2nd season, it was time for dinner. I let him continue to watch it while I made food for us.
