Chapter 5~ Before the Navy

(May 10th, 1998 Ramsey turns 9)

~~Ramsey's POV~~

"Happy birthday Ramsey!!!!"

"Thank you mommy! I really like the plan you bought me, but I feel like I'm missing something for my birthday."

"Ramsey, dear look I know it's hard for your father away."

Staring at my mother with tears of anger I stand up, and kick the coffee table and just lose it. "He promised me that he would be home for my birthday! He promised me he would come back from the fleet okay!" The pain and agony just began to pour out and there was no stopping me from letting it out. My father left on a 9 month deployment to a ship on the ocean, on July 9th. But we weren't allowed to know where because his job is so secretive. He was was supposed to be home by April 30th. "Mother we haven't heard from him in 2 weeks he didn't come home and it's so painful that he broke his promise. He broke his promise." I slowly fall the floor weeping as my mother catches me to keep me from hurting myself.

Suddenly a knock came at the door. I honestly believe it's someone here to tell us that he's not coming home that he's died. Mother walks to the door and opens it. It's a delivery man with a giant package wrapped in teal wrapping paper.

"Delivery for Ramsey McCorren, the sender says happy birthday."

In shock I come to the door, and say,"Thank you sir."

He walks away, starts up his truck and drove off.

"Well why don't you open it out here? It's too large and looks heavy to move."

"Mother are you sure?" I say still wiping away my tears.

"I'm positive."

I walk up and kick the box, you never know if someone sends you a bomb unless you kick it. The box didn't detonate so I feel comfortable enough to open the gift. I slowly take off the wrapping paper and begin to open the box. I found it odd the top of the box wasn't taped. Suddenly something jumps out of the box and sends we backwards and falling flat on my butt.
With wide eyes I look up and begin to cry tears of joy.

"Father your alive!! Father you came home!!! You kept your promise!!!"
I run to him and Leap into his hands and wrapping my entire body around him.

"Yes son I'm home! I won't be going anywhere for a long time!"

So I know this was short and stuff, but I felt that we needed to hear about a part of Ramsey's life.
Sorry I haven't put up any chapters recently I will start to do that! Love you guys!!!
