It’s two in the afternoon and I’m waiting for my best friend, Desire, to come to my house so we can go to the airport and fly to Anaheim, California, where VidCon was being held. But this isn’t the beginning of the story; I have to start 360 days ago. It was this day that I started sending Christian Novelli one thing I liked about him each day. He was kind of famous on YouTube, so I figured this wouldn’t really matter to him. “This is the nicest thing ever. You’re the nicest person ever!” he said.
About a month before I was done he asked if I was going to VidCon and I said I wasn’t sure because I didn’t really know anyone there. “You’d sort of know me. You’re super nice and I wanna meet you!” So I said I would ask Des if she wanted to go. She said “Of course! I could meet Danny!” She as talking about Danny Casale, who is on YouTube too, Des was obsessed with him. So we booked our tickets, booked our room and got our VidCon tickets.
My mom is scared that we’re going to get mugged, murdered, or raped, so I gave her Hank Green, of the Vlogbrothers, email address so she could contact him. He assured her that I would be totally safe and he would watch out for us. Hank said he would pick us up from the airport and help us get checked into our hotel. Hank Freaking Green is going to pick us up at the airport!! How cool is that!
We’re flying from Belfast, Maine so that should be about 7 hours. We wanted to go with our friend John, but he has to go get ready for college. Also he isn’t really into the YouTube thing anymore. So John and my family took us to the airport and we said our goodbyes. We went to our gate to wait for our flight.
