This is definitely one of the most controversial ships in BHNA, and to be honest, I understand why.
Katsuki and Izuku have a horrible relationship in the series, and I could honestly never see them getting together with the way that they are now.
However, with a lot of character development, and I mean A LOT, they could end up liking each other in fanfiction.
The only problem is that, and I mean no offense to anybody when I say this, there are a lot of people who don't develop them good enough. Heck, some don't develop them at all! And, while this is fanfiction, so it doesn't really matter, I just can't read anything like that. There are some fanfics that I've read that use the whole, "I've been hiding my feelings for you all along!" excuse, but it just doesn't work.
At other times, they do try developing them, and I love the effort! However, they do it a little too fast at times. In chapter one they'll be enemies with no good feelings for each other, but then in chapter five, all of a sudden they're in love.
Now, am I saying that I'm extremely good at developing characters? Absolutely not. I've done the same exact things that others have done, and I'm trying to get better at writing.
For example, in my story 'Ambivalent', I turned two enemies into friends only in the second chapter. Sure, they weren't good friends, but it still wouldn't work like that in-universe anyways. All I did was make them hug and wrote a time skip, and then they were all 'buddy-buddy' with each other. I still cringe rereading the mess that I made.
So, I'm in no way a master of what I'm speaking about. But, I'm just trying to say that for these two to get together, there must be at least a little bit of development.
And anyways, that's why I like it so much.
I love a good challenge in bringing two characters together, and this is no exception. There needs to be a lot of healing from the past and the present, and both characters (but mostly Katsuki), need to develop as people to be able to cooperate, even as friends.
I'd much rather have this, than a boring, vanilla ship.
But, this is just my opinion. I can't speak for everyone, and I most certainly do not, so in the end, this is just how I feel.
In all, I rate it a solid 8/10.
