"Ashton I'm sorry but I have to leave! " He won't let me go. Today is the day we are moving and Ashton and Brianna came to say goodbye. Brianna walks over to me with tears sparkaling in her grey blue eyes. "Britt," she starts "We can leave. Right now let's take off running. Let's go upstairs and grab some stuff. We can do it." "You don't even like them." Ashton whimpers his voice cracking. "Ashton..." I start. He breaks. Tears run down his face as he walks over pulling me into a tight embrace. "We have been friends since kindergarden" Ashton starts

I stroke his curly light brown hair. "Its going to be ok." I whisper in to his shirt. Tears strain down my face. Brianna walks over to us and wraps her arms around my shoulders.

My mom walks over and pulls me from my friends. "Its time to go. " she says softly. I run to hug them one last time. "I love you guys." I choke out. "Don't worry. You'll do great." Brianna reassures me. And hugs me one last time. "Get a boyfriend. " Ashton says laughing through tears. "Don't worry I will!" I exclaim in a soft voice. I hug each of them one last time. "I love you both so much! " I sob.

"Brittany!" my mom yells out of the car. I walk over to the car. "Please text me!" I yell turning around. "We will!" I climb into the car and plug in my earbuds to my phone waving to my friends. "Cincinatti or bust! " my dad yells out the window.

I click on the pandora app. My favorite song came up.

When I was a young boy,

My father took me into the city

To see a marching band.

He said, "Son when you grow up,

would you be the saviour of the broken,

the beaten and the damned?"

He said "Will you defeat them,

your demons, and all the non-believers,

the plans that they have made?"

"Because one day I'll leave you,

A phantom to lead you in the summer,

To join The Black Parade."

I find myself humming along to the song. Until my dad taps me on the shoulder. He motions for me to pull our my earbuds. "Yes?" I question. "We have to pray over our trip. " he exclaims. My mom pulls out her little bottle of holy oil and grabs my wrist. As she drags her finger across my wrist in the shape of a cross I hiss. She looks at me in alarm. I laugh with my eyes and she glares at me. "Let us pray," my father starts " dear heavenly father, please protect us as we continue on our journey to follow your will. Keep us safe and together. Amen. I sigh. My parents are so religions that I have started to resent religion. The trees flash by in a blur. I close my eyes. "We're here! " my mom squeals. The car pulls into the drive way of a large two story house. I walk into the house surveying the area. The moving guys bring in all the boxes by the time my parents tell me to pick out my room. I pick the second biggest room because it has a window seat. I begin to set up my room. And as soon as I put the cover on my bed I lay down and cry myself to sleep.
