It's been years since that happened, you buried yourself into work, you worked out and you got rid of your glasses. A makeover.

It made you gain yourself again, even if it's just a little bit.

You're one of the most successful lawyers in the field. Almost never losing cases. You wanted to prove to everyone that the weak, vulnerable and naive you is gone. Now you are this confident, powerful and bold woman.

You're still the happy and loving you. But you are now cautious on who you trust and who you love.

Your thoughts were interrupted by your ringing phone.

"Hey mama"

"Hey baby, how are you?"

"I'm okay ma, I'm not a baby tho. I'm a grown ass woman" you pouted and laughed when you heard you mother snicker.

"Okay baby, whatever you say"

"Okay that's enough, why did you call ma? Are you okay? Is everything fine?"

"Oh yes yes, everything is perfect, but we want you to spend thanksgiving with us. We missed you y/nn."

"Okay ma, I'll be there. But i have to go i still got tons of work to do. Bye i love you"

"I love you too baby"

You sighed when she hung up. You really missed your family, especially your mother. The day after tomorrow is thanksgiving, you have to pack and fly to your hometown.

You sat back into your old bed, taking a deep breath of the familiar smell of your room, you smiled and lay on your back.

You missed being home.

"Knock Knock" you turn your head to the other side and saw your old childhood friend and bestfriend , Trevor. You squealed and ran to him, hugging him tightly.

"Hey, how are you??" you asked him excitedly. He only chuckled and stared at you.

"What? Is there something on my face??"

"Yes there is." you frowned and went to the body length mirror, looking for any dirt in your face.

"What? I can't find anything" you said and turned to him again.

"Beauty" he simply said and smiled brightly. You laughed and threw your head back.

"You're still the same, Trev" he winked and smirked.

Your moment was cut off when your mom walked in behind Trevor and smiled at you, asking you to grab a few ingredients in the store. You quickly agreed and dragged Trevor with you forcing him to drive you there.

You're both laughing and messing around, Trevor pushing the cart while you joke around. You bumped into someone, making them dropped the things.

"I'm sorry I wasn't lookin--" you said picking up the person's phone and wallet. Standing up only to be met with Claudia, Fin and Billie.

"Oh hey guys" you siad casually smiling at them.
"Hey y/nn" Claudia, recognized you and quickly wrapped her arms around you, with Fin hugging you too.

You nod at Billie, getting into conversation with Claudia and Fin. You saw Billie glaring at Trevor, making him slightly uncomfortable.

"I would like to catch up with you guys but we have to go. But feel free to stop by tomorrow okay?" you said and kissed Claudia and Fin's cheek, pullung Trevor with you.

"That was...awkward" He suddenly said and grabbed a milk. You turn to him and raised your brow.

"The girl, what is her name. Ah Billie, she was glaring at me and she was staring at you pretty intense i might add" you only nodded and walked in the counter.

Trevor carried you bags and you raced with him to his car. Your laugh echoed throughout the parking area.

You were unaware of those ocean eyes staring at you longingly.
