The fact that Sarah Spellman was going out with Barnaby Lee seemed to interest a great number of people, most of them girls, but Sarah was glad that at least she was being talked about because of something that made her happy, rather than speculation on her evil activities.

In truth, becoming boyfriend and girlfriend didn't change their relationship that much, although Sarah was sure her friends now suspected the true purpose of their "study dates." Other than everyone making sure they got to sit beside each other while they studied, Sarah receiving hateful looks from all of Barnaby's admirers, and Bill having to chase Barnaby away from the Gryffindor table more often, life was pretty much as it had been before.

More good news arrived the following week. The post arrived, and with it came another purple envelope for Sarah. She'd been invited to join the Sphinx club.

"Finally," said Rowan. "I was beginning to think you'd never get in!"

"You gonna do it?" asked Charlie. "That's a lot on one plate, even for you."

"I don't know," said Sarah. It probably was too much to take on, but she couldn't bear to see a disappointed look on Rowan's face. "I'll go check it out at least."

"Knew you'd be getting one of those!" said Barnaby as he approached the table.

Bill held his fork up threateningly at Barnaby. "Keep your distance, Lee. If you can't follow the seating rules, I'll have to give you a detention."

"As long as it's in the kitchens," he said, taking a seat next to Sarah. He put an arm around her and squeezed her tight. "Well done."

"I'm serious, Barnaby," said Bill. "Get to the Slytherin table or McGonagall will have my head as well as yours."

"Alright, don't get your wand in a knot. I'm leaving."

Rowan was positively shaking with excitement as she led Sarah to the Sphinx clubhouse. It was also on the seventh floor, though on the opposite side of the castle as the Dragon Den, as her club mates had started to call it. She realized she'd be getting quite the workout on Saturday evenings, hiking all the way from the sphinx club, down seven floors to the Hippogriff club, and back up to the Dragon Den in one evening. She wouldn't even have time to eat dinner.

The secret entrance to this club was the wildest of all. Rowan led her up a turret with a large, open window. Then, she climbed through and dropped out of sight.

"Rowan!" Sarah screamed, running to the window and peering down. There was no sight of her. Then, Rowan's head popped up to the window, causing Sarah to jump and fall backwards.

"It's alright," Rowan laughed. "Come on, oh fearless Curse Breaker."

"Shut it." With extreme caution, Sarah edged her body out of the window until she was hanging off the ledge by her fingertips. Then, she let go.

She fell only a few feet before landing softly on a large cushion. She looked around and found herself in a long hall that had been completely invisible from the outside.

"Wow."

"Amazing, isn't it?" said Rowan. She helped Sarah to her feet.

It certainly was amazing. Sarah had thought the Hippogriff's club and the Dragon Den were opposites, but now she realized that the Hippogriff club, the nest as she started to think of it, was a middle ground between the other two.
