The Proposal

Chapter 18

Bella's POV

What the hell was Noah thinking agreeing to have dinner with my family. I don't want my dad to know about us. He'll think I'm the one who seduced him to get what I want from Noah. He would never believe Noah was the one that came up with the deal between us. Plus how am I suppose to act like there is nothing between us? I mean just thinking of him makes me flush, my heart race and my pussy wet. I realize I have started feeling things for this man, more than I ever intended to and now I have to act like I hardly know him let alone that I want him touching me and me touching him. What am I going to do?

"Pull yourself together" I say to my reflection in the mirror as I finish applying my make-up. "You got this" I sigh looking myself over. I hate lying to my parents, but I remind myself this is for my company. I grab my clutch and head out to meet my parents and Noah for dinner.

Noah's POV

Mr. & Mrs. Lee and I were already at the restaurant when Bella came swaying in. I can't take my eyes off of her as she makes her way to the table. I stand and pull a seat out for her. She smiles and sits down and I push her chair in catching a whiff of her intoxicating scent, Vanilla and brown sugar. God I could just eat her up. I take my seat beside her as she looks away from me. I guess we are playing that we hardly know each other. I catch her father looking from me to Bella and I quickly look away. I mean I was just being a gentleman with her seat nothing else.

"Soooo how are you two getting along" her mom asks. Both Bella and I look at her confused.

"I just mean you are both alive. I figured my Bella would fight you tooth and nail at every turn over the company" she says laughing.

"Oh mom, don't be silly I'm a grown woman I can handle Noah. Plus I'm doing what you all asked of me . The faster I do it the faster I get my company right" she says taking a drink of her water. Bella's eyes dart to me then looks away. I catch a faint smile on Mrs. Lee's face before she takes a drink of her wine.

"Let's eat" Mr. Lee says waving over the waiter. We place our order as a waiter brings over a bottle of expensive champagne .

"Why are we having champagne dad?"

"Oh this is a celebration. Noah is doing an excellent job running the company and you my dear are dating and having a life. Everything is going to plan " Mr. Lee says grinning from ear to ear. Out of the corner of my eye I see Bella fighting with her emotions as she quickly takes a drink of her bubbly. I know she is mad cause all the deals that happened for the company pretty much was all her and her dad is congratulating me on a job well done. Under the table I let my hand slide to her thigh and gently squeeze. I m hoping she understands what I'm trying to tell her. I know it's her not me, but I don't want her losing her cool. She kind of jumps a little but covers it . She glances at me quickly then away. I leave my hand on her leg as she seems ok with it. I just want to be touching her. We all talk back and forth over our meal, nothing really serious. I notice Bella's mom keeps looking between us with a curious look in her eye, but never says anything. Soon it's time to leave and we are saying our goodbyes, when Bella asks," Hey Dad can you drop me off at my apartment I came in a cab my car is in the shop."

"I can take you home " I say quickly looking into her eyes .

"Oh no Noah, I wouldn't want to put you out."

"Oh it's no trouble I think you live on my side of town anyway. It's not a big deal" I say wanting her to take my invitation. I look into her eyes pleadingly. The Lee's are looking back and forth between us with mild amusement .

"Oh for goodness sake Bella let the boy drive you home. He said it was no big deal "Her dad says as he slaps my back.

"Fine , Noah thank you for agreeing to take me home." We walk to the car waving goodbye to her parents as I open her door and get her in my car. I run around to my side jumping in and taking off into the night towards Bella's home.
