The Proposal

Chapter 27

Bella's POV

Everything has been going great. Noah has kept to the deal I have been running the company behind the scenes and after we go home we spend our nights in each other's arms. We have learned so much about each other and I have madly and deeply fallen for him. Six months have past by in a blur and my parents are hounding me to meet the man I have been seeing. I am nervous and worried how my parents will take it that I'm dating the man they hired to take over the company so I would go out live my life and such. Noah and I have discussed this multiple times and we just finally came to the conclusion that we are going to have to tell them. We love each other and want to be out in the open instead of travelling out of town so we don't run into people we know that would tell my parents. Picking up the phone I dial my parents number.

"Hello" I hear my mom's voice as she answers the phone.

"Mom, how are you? How's dad?"

"Oh Bella, We are good. How are things going with your man?" I notice her asking this with some disappointment in her voice as they haven't been allowed to meet him yet.

"Actually, that's what I'm calling you about" I quickly breathe out before I lose my nerve to get this over with. "I'm inviting you and dad out to dinner tonight. I think it's time you meet him."

"Really? Is it serious? Oh I can't wait to see who my daughter is dating." I can practically hear her smile over the phone.

"I figured it was time. Anyway let's meet at 7 tonight at our usual place if that is ok."

"Oh yes , yes that will be great. I will let your dad know, he will be so excited. See you at 7 dear. Bye"

I hear the click of the phone followed by the dial tone and I try to swallow down a big lump in my throat. Please let this go ok I think to myself.

At 6:55 Noah and pull up to the restaurant and feel like I swallowed a bunch of eels.

"Hey, are you ok? You look positively green" Noah says with concern in his eyes rubbing my back in slow circles. I smile at him and take a deep breath.

"I am just nervous, I want them to be ok with us. I love you and I want them to love you too" I blurt out quickly sucking in air turning bright red. Noah reaches up cupping my cheek and staring me in the eyes. " I love you Bella, I am sure that your parents will only want you to be happy. Do I make you happy?"

"Why would you ask me that" I scoff at him. "I am the happiest I have ever been in my life. I use to think that work made me happy , but I didn't know what I was missing until us. You make me so happy " I say as I lean over and kiss his lips gently. I pull back and see a fire burning in his eyes.

"What" I ask as he starts to say something, buthe shakes his head and says " Come one let's not keep your parents waiting" Weget out of the car lacing our hands together heading into the restaurant withsmiles on our lips.
