The Proposal

Chapter 21

Bella's POV

I arrived at Candy's house 45 minutes after our call. Not seeing her car I go ahead and let myself in and get the wine in the chiller. Making myself at I home I go ahead and put on my pj's cause let's face it we are going to get shit faced, over eat, talk and laugh. It's been awhile since we have gotten to have one of our feasts and gab fests. I flop onto the couch throwing my feet on the coffee table and turn on the tv. Flipping through the channels I find Dirty Dancing just as Candy opens the door.

"OMG I love that movie leave it on and get over here and help me with this stuff." I jump off the couch running over and grabbing bags out of her hands heading to the kitchen.

"Looks like you got enough stuff to host a party."

"Yeah we always eat this much when we have our serious talks. I don't know how you stay so thin and eat like a linebacker" She says laughing. Candy looks like the girl next door, 5'6 with blonde hair, sky blue eyes. She has a nice curvy body that she thinks she is too fat, but I call her voluptuous. She has all the junk in the right places. She always has men drooling over her asking her out, but the girl is focused on one thing so she only ever has casual flings. She tells me all the time that once she gets through med school she'll look for her prince charming. She's stubborn, funny, and furiously loyal. My parents helped her out with med school as both her parents died when she was 17 in a car wreck. She is really like my sister and my parents treat her as theirs too, coming over having family dinners and taking her on vacations with us. She's my best friend and my sister. I love her and I know she will tell me like it is. She never holds back she tells me the truth even if it hurts. That's one reason she is my bestie.

"So what's going on with you Sis? Spill the beans. You look like the weight of the world is on your shoulders." I sigh as I pull out all the stuff to make our snacks getting two glass for our wine down. She stares at me while I continue putting everything together not looking her in the eye. I feel her eyes on me and she starts tapping her foot.

"Well??"

"OK, well dad hired this man to take over the business instead of me. He says just until I live my life and enjoy it. Go out dating things like that." She nods her head waiting on me to go on. "Noah , the man who took it over came to me with a deal that allows me to basically run the company the way I see fit." I look up at Candy she has a grimace on her face, but she looks at me like keep going so I take a deep breath and go on. "The deal is, I sow my wild oats with him. I do everything I would do as if we are dating and such, in return I get to be the one who does all the legal things for my company. Run it behind the scene. Once my dad thinks I've lived he will hand the business back to me and I get my company like I always planned."

"Let me get this straight" she pauses looking at me with curiosity in her eyes. "You agreed to basically date this man just for your company? Does that include sex?" I can feel my face burning as she starts dying laughing. "Bitch, you are a virgin how did you tell him that." I stare down looking at the floor.

"Well I told him right before he fucked me " I blurted out.

"OMG ,you did not! You actually had sex ?"

"Yes I finally had sex. I have never felt this way towards a man. He makes me feel things I have never felt. "

"Well, MY little Bella has grown up! He must be special for you to throw away your virginity. What was it you told me. Not until marriage or at least your engagement."

"I know what I said" I sigh. "That's the problem I think I have feelings for him. This was suppose to be no strings attached, but...."

"You've become attached" She whispers as she pulls me in for a hug. She kisses the top of my head as I start sobbing.

"Oh Bella, I knew once you found someone worth it you would fall hard. You like to act like you things don't bother you , that you are all business , but underneath all that all you ever wanted was a man to fall in love with. You wanted to be loved." I sob even louder as she hugs me tighter. "come on Sis pull yourself together. Let's get these snacks into the living room and have a fest and gossip while we watch Patrick Swayze. You'll feel better I promise and we will continue talking about your problem, but right now we need you to calm down." I nod my head as I pull back and she wipes away my tears with her thumb smiling at me.

We set up everything in the living room and have our wine in our glasses. It doesn't matter how long we have been away from each other it's like we talked yesterday. We watch rom coms and laugh all day eating and drinking. At 10pm my phone buzzes. I look at the text it's from Noah.

"Hey just checking on you. I wanted to see if you wanted to go out with me tomorrow. "

I show Candy and she smiles. "What's the problem Bella, it seems he wants to spend time with you?"
"Well, I kind of told him that I love him as we were drifting off to sleep last night."

"Well, do you love him " she asks me staring straight into my eyes.

"I think I do, but what if he doesn't feel the same?" She sits up and places her wine glass on the table. She turns to me and grabs my shoulders turning me towards her.

"Bella, You know I love you right?"

"Yes."

"Ok then listen to what I have to say. Bitch you are being dumb." I gasp as she glares at me. "After everything you have told me , this man likes you if not loves you and your plan that you told me about pushing him away is really stupid. SO what you told him you loved him. He may or may not have heard you, but either way he is till trying to be around you. I wish I had my parents still just to say I love you one more time. If you love someone you should tell them every day cause it might be their last." I look up into her eyes and see tears forming. I know she is right and I feel bad for making her think of her parents. We both latch on to each other hugging and crying.

"Your right, Candy. I am a stupid Bitch" I gush. She starts laughing through the tears.

"I'm glad you see that you are a stupid bitch, but really it takes one to know one so I guess we are both stupid bitches." We both fall back against the couch laughing and trying to catch our breath.

"Thanks Sis I needed this. I know you always have my back. Now that all that mush stuff is over with let's watch an action film!" She nods her head as I take out my phone. I'm going to listen to her she is always right.

"Sure sounds good. I'll call you tomorrow when I get back home. I'm staying the night with my bestie. Night Noah." I send the text and don't even have to wait but a few seconds as his next comes in, "Can't wait. Sleep well. Good night Love." I lay the phone down and Candy and I get comfortable for our action movie.
