The sun glowed brightly, the rays reflecting off the lake causing it to sparkle. With another day passed,Amy had felt slightly better. The birds chirped happily, flying over her head. The breeze was soft and slow,a relaxed sensation in the air.She looked up at the sky, watching the clouds pass by.The garden was beautiful in the noon, the flowers looked delicate and bright as always. The small lake in the center glistened which was accompanied by a white gazebo.Amy sighed deeply, feeling slightly light headed. She still hasn't gotten over her parents' death, and the whole queen and marriage business just made her feel worse.
Yet,she didn't want to think about all that now.Amy needed time to herself, she wanted so desperately to leave the castle for a while.Alone.Not any guards with her,no matter how much she loved Blaze.Amy wanted freedom, freedom to go out and do what she wanted.Just for a little while that is.However, she knew that wouldn't be an option.Especially since her parents' death. Now she would have to look over the castle.Be Queen. And have a king at her side.
Marriage.
That was what had stung her the her the most.Of course she dreamed of being swept off her feet. But not like this. She wanted to get married to someone she loved. To someone she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. Not by force and arranged. She doesn't even know who she is going to be married too.Which is why she would be meeting him today.Amy wasn't excited about this.she just wanted to be left alone. But business is business.Amy fumed slightly, blowing loose strands of hair out of her face.
"Princess Amy."
She turned around,slightly startled.
"You startled me Blaze,"she said, breathing to calm her rapid heart beat.
Blaze bowed,"I'm sorry. But he has arrived."
Amy felt all her troubles come back to her,she started shaking.
"Oh.Alright...."
Blaze lead her back into the castle.Amy followed behind, looking straight ahead. Both remained quiet before reaching the entrance of the castle.Of course,it was huge, one of the biggest rooms in the whole castle. The ceiling met at a point, looking like a dome.A red silk carpet was underneath them, complementing the beautiful art hung on the walls and the golden columns with expensive glass vases on them.A guard stood at the giant doors, standing straight in his silver armor. He didn't look at Amy,but stared ahead.
"You're Highness, may I introduce you to Prince Shadow of Chaos!"he boomed, opening up the large doors.
Amy cocked her head, watching as they opened to reveal a knight still riding on his black horse toward them.Blaze stood by her side, her hand resting on her sheathed sword. As the man reached them,he jumped off his horse, the metal clanking when he landed.Amy still couldn't see his face due to the black, midnight, shiny helmet covering it.He was making his way toward her,a couple inches taller than her.Amy waited patiently, hands behind her back at all times.
Once he was in front of her,he carefully took her gloved hand in his.The Prince went on one knee, looking up at her.Her heart skipped a beat as he took off his helmet with his free hand.He black quills with red tips, his crimson red eyes looking into her emerald ones. His face looked as if a genuine smile had never appeared on it before. The Prince,Shadow of Chaos, rubbed his fingers over her small delicate hand.He pulled it up to his mouth, placing a soft kiss on her white gloved hand.
"I must say,"he said in a deep gruff voice,"You are very beautiful Princess Rose."
Amy gave him a weak smile, pulling her hand back as he stood.
"Thank you.You too are quite stunning,"she said with a hint of shyness.
He nodded,"Thank you."
The two were wondering around the castle, remaining silent rather than talking to each other.Amy did see he was very attractive, yet she could also see how cold and serious he was.He didn't smile, laugh,or chuckle. As if he had never experienced any emotion before.Like his heart was made of ice.
"What do you think of this arranged marriage?"she finally asked, sick of the silence.
He didn't look at her,"Well since I've know about this for quite a long time,I'm not surprised."
Amy furrowed her eyebrows,"How long have you've known about this?"
Shadow stayed silent before replying.
"Ever since I was fifteen."
Her heart fell desperately, depression filled her body.Sorrow and pain. Her parents had planned this for over five years and still didn't tell her?Amy was angry and bitter, clenching her fists as her teeth were pressed together.
"Oh,"was all she could say at the moment.
Shadow'a crimson's eyes darkened to a bloody red.
"I am sorry for your loss,"he said darkly.
Amy was too angered to hear the tone in his voice or the look in his eye.All she could think of was her parents and their hidden secret. She wanted to cry and scream, but couldn't since Shadow was near.
"I-I'm sorry,"she stuttered,"But I can't be bothered right now."
With that, she ran past Shadow and couldn't look back. She ignored his calls and ran back into the castle.Amy bumped into Blaze, her eyes tearing up.
"Princess?What happened?"she asked worriedly.
Amy shook her head, pushing her way through Blaze.Running to her room, she ignored everyone who was calling her name.Amy slammed open the doors and slammed them closed. She was screaming, tears once again pouring down her face. She started throwing things around, including vases, things on her dresser, and picture frames.
Amy couldn't help but feel so much pain, the pain of her parents not telling her about the arranged marriage that Shadow had known about for years.
The betrayal, the lies, what else has her parents kept from her?
