Chapter 4-A Stranger Saved My Life

Amy's P.O.V

The bustling crowds of town was actually something I missed.I sighed deeply,the flowers around the garden moving gently in the wind.The sun was down and the moon was up and full.It was a beautiful night,not a sound.The breeze was soft,the air smelt wonderful.I felt at peace for the first time in a couple of days.So stressed,my mind was spinning.

Especially since some thief stole one of my precious gems.Yet that was the very least of my worries.So what,some dusty jewel was stolen.I could careless,I was too buried into my thoughts.All I wanted to do was run away,but that was very cowardly.I can't just run away from my problems,no matter how bad I want to.Still,all I wanted to do right now was push them away,at least for a little bit.

I found myself thinking about that beautiful town that I wanted so badly to visit.It had been years since I visited it.I could see it off in the distance.Oh was there anyway I could go?Anyway at all?I know the guards would not let me out,especially since my parents were killed.I mean,what if I'm next?And how much I hate to say it,but I don't care.If I die,I die.Maybe then I'll finally see my parents in some beautiful kingdom up in the sky.

However,I know dying wouldn't solve anything.But back to the town subject.Thinking deeply,I slowly wandered back into the castle.As I passed many guards and walked down many halls,I made it to my room.Everything was a mess inside.When I skimmed my fingers along my wardrobe,I thought of a plan.It sparked in my head,as if it was already planned.All I had to do was put it in action.

I opened up my wardrobe,pulling out a warm out brown cloak.I wrapped it around my body,then pulled the hood over my head.I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner,I guess the stress was keeping it from me.Turning to my window,I carefully and quietly pushed it open.I then walked onto my balcony,scanning down below.I knew this would be dangerous,but I wanted this so badly,I wanted to get away,just for a bit.

With one deep sigh,I lifted my leg over the balcony rail.Then the other,I carefully stepped onto the stone ledges around the castle.I gulped when I looked down,thank goodness I wasn't that scared of heights.I pulled the hood over my eyes,pushing my back against the stone.I slid ever so carefully,hoping not to fall.I could see more of the stone ledges leading down,almost like stairs.

Very thankful,I climbed down each one,pausing ever second when I thought a guard was looking.Soon the bottom was visible.I scanned the area,seeing a patch of bushes.With one silent prayer,I jumped down,landing in them with a soft thud.It was a pretty long way jump,maybe a little over ten feet.I was slightly shocked that I wasn't that hurt.Just a scratch here and there.

I stood,seeing that the bridge wasn't that far.I had an idea,and hopefully it would fool the guards.I made sure my cloak was covering my head and body as I walked up to the gates.The guards stopped me immediately.

"Halt,"they spoke.

I mustered the best impression I would of my servant Cream.

"I'm going to the town,"I said,mimicking her.

The guards were fooled,letting men past.I thanked them and walked on the stone bridge with inside happiness.When I was out of their sight,I ran towards the town,keeping my hood up.I felt the rush of excitement run through my body.It was amazing.I could see the building and lateens,I could hear the children and people.I could smell delicious smells like fresh bread and sweet treats.

When I reached the town,I was out of breath.I panted,watching the crowds of people.I saw some people dancing,others playing music with odd looking musical things.I cocked my head,then looked at the many stands,people selling many products.Everything looked beautiful,my eyes sparkled with interest,watching everyone walk by.I had missed this town deeply,I even wanted to cry at the sight.
