Chapter 16

When people say the it's a small world, they mean that shit. The other day my auntie asked if I could take my 3 year-old cousin to play with one of her friends at a local park. Turns out, her friends name is Chelsea Pierce. I can only assume Brittany will be there to, which means that my week and a half long streak of not seeing Brittany -unless you count texts and the occasional call- will be over; Which I'm pretty sure is a good thing.

We pulled up at the park around 10 minutes early since Alice wanted to be there before the agreed time so she could place with Chelsea for longer. She was so exited I didn't want to tell her that we would be waiting around for those ten minutes. I still have no idea how Mom let me borrow her car. I got to drive here!

"C'mon Tani we gotta go!" Alice said pulling my arm and taking me out of my thoughts.

"Alright I'm coming" I replied while getting Her out of her seat.

We walked out near the public play area waited just outside the gate for Chelsea and Britt.

"Tani where are they?" Alice whined looking up at me with a pout. Damm that cute adorable pout.

"Alice you are the one who wanted to come early so now we have to wait for them" I said the her knowingly.

"Alice!" I heard from behind us.

I turned around to see Chelsea run up to her and give her a hug. That was soon followed by Brittany chasing after her.

"Chels what did I say about running away?" She told her with her eyebrows raised.

"I'm sorry" Chelsea replied with her head down.

"S'okay" she said calmly. "Just don't do it again" she told her.

"I won't" she replied with a smile. She then turned her attention to me and I watched her face break out into a smile. "What are you doin' herew Sanny?" She asked.

"Tani is my cousin" Alice replied proudly.

"Oh cool" she replied. She was intrested in the fact for about 1 second before she immediately let that thought disappear. "C'mon Alice let's go in!"

While they made there way into play area Brittany just looked at me with a smile.

"What?" I teased.

"Nothing. It's just that this is a lovely surprise" she replied with a shrug. "Seeing you" she clarified.

I just smiled back at her then took a step forward and giving her a massive hug. I missed her, and I think I only just realised how much at this moment. "I missed you" I mumbled into her neck.

"I missed your too" she replied. I couldn't see her as my head was in the crook of her neck but I could still hear the smile on her face.

"You wanna go sit down?" I asked with hopeful eyes.

"Sure" she answered.

We made our way over to one of the seats in the entrance of the play area. No words were exchanged as we cuddled close. I know we need to talk and now would be the perfect time, so I cleared my throat and got off her chest.

"I actually wanted to talk to you so I figured now be a good time to do that" I started.

"Yeah we probably should talk" she mumbled.

"I just want to be clear, I don't think of you any differently. I just needed time to accept things and it really shouldn't have taken me that long" I said causing both of us to chuckle. "But you were right when you said that in order for this relationship to work it needs to be built on honesty, so thank you for being honest with me. I want this relationship to work with you Britt, I really do, and I'm sorry-"

"San please don't apologise for anything. You've done nothing wrong" she said sadly.

"I know but I shouldn't have waited so long to tell you how I was feeling" I explained.

"San you can take as long as you need accepting things because you're not in the wrong here" she told me.

"Look can we just put this all stuff behind us? I just want things with my girlfriend to go back to normal" I said smiling at her.

"I think that'd be great" she said leaning in, waiting for me to close distance. So I did.

God missed this so much. Her hand made its way to cup my cheek as I nibbled on her top lip. My hands remained on her waist as I pulled her closer until our bodies were completely flush. Okay, so maybe we shouldn't be making out when my baby cousin and her child are no more than 15 feet away, even if they are too distracted to notice. Britt seemed to be thinking the same thing as she slowed down our kisses until they were just us pecking each other on the lips. We pulled away both of us breathless and with a smile on our face. I have no idea why but we then broke out into a fit of giggles.

"Okay okay" Britt said trying to calm us both down. "Uh I found out that the other day that you two and Chelsea saw each other at the mall the other day" she told me.

"Oh yeah. I was only there because Rachel apparently needed a new dress for a date with Finn, and we just ran into them" I explained with a shrug. "How'd you find out?" I asked.

"Oh right" she said with a breathy laugh. "Chelsea came running in the house screaming 'I met the pretty lady!'. So that pretty much gave it away" she said causing both of us to laugh.

"We should *kiss* probably *kiss* cool off" Britt said whilst pecking me on the lips.

"Yeah probably" I breathed out, not wanting to though.

Ever since we had that talk at the park around a week ago every time we see each other it's getting harder and harder to keep our hands off one and other. Britt's respecting me not being ready to have sex which most of the time leaves us both extremely sexually frustrated. I honestly think I might be ready to have sex with her but I still want to wait until I'm completely sure.

"So Christmas is what, a week and a half away?" She questioned.

"Next Wednesday" I corrected with a nod.

"So am I going to see you on Christmas. You, know its just that I got you a gift" she explained.

"I hope so. I got you a gift to by the way" I told her with a smile.

"So what? We'll arrange a time?" She said.

"Definitely" I replied. "Now that I've officially cooled offfff" I drew out connecting my lips with her and rolling us back onto her bed.

"What do you count as cooling off?" She mumbled against my lips with a breathy laugh.
