Sophie's Pov
We get back from the mall after picking out some cute bracelets and a few other accessories and clothes. Pizza, salad, soda, and of course cake are all waiting for us when we enter the Conservatory. We all sit on the cushions and dig into our feast.
"Soooooo, Sophie do you have any guys that you hope your soul mark will represent?" Marella giggles.
I blush, my mind going straight to Fitz, "Not really."
Biana pokes my cheek, "Awww, Sophie's blushing! That means you're lying!"
"I am not!" I exclaim, swatting her hand away. "I just don't want to hurt myself or anyone else if my soul mark is something that has no relation with that person. I'm so nervous!"
"Maybe we should invite the boys. I mean who better to spend your birthday with than the whole group?" Linh suggests. "I mean only if you want to."
I laugh, "Of course! Linh you call Tam, Biana call Dex and then go get Fitz from his room, Marella call Wylie, and I'll call Keefe!"
We all grab our phones and dial the numbers, inviting the boys over to the house. They all bring snacks and drinks. We head down to the basement and spread out.
Fitz and Tam sit next to each other laughing about some football thing. It is weird, seeing Tam laugh. He never laughs. Linh and Wylie sit next to each other, and then Dex and Biana. Marella is laying on the couch with a content smirk on her face. I turn on The Notebook, our group's favorite movie. The only spot is between Biana and Keefe on the floor. I take my spot laying my head on Biana's lap and putting my feet on Keefe's lap.
Even though I just met him a few days ago, it feels like I've known him for years. Biana starts to play with my hair while we watch the movie. I feel myself start to relax, and my eyes become a bit heavy. To keep my energy up I reach for my coke and take a drink. The movie ends and we all sit in a big circle.
"I'm booooaaard!" Keefe wines.
"Yeah! Biana do you have an Ouija board?" Marella asks with a sly smile on her face.
Fitz gets up and walks over to the game closet, "I think I saw one in here somewhere. I've never played it though. What do you do?"
Marella takes the box out of his hands and shrugs, "It's a way to communicate with spirits. It is actually really fun. There are only three rules though. One; never play in a graveyard, two; never play alone, and three; always say goodbye."
"That sounds really scary! What happens if you don't way goodbye?" Linh whimpers hiding herself behind Tam.
"Well I think you can get possesed or something. Also don't insult the spirits, this is really serious stuff," Marella warns.
Linh's breath hitches, "D-do we all have to play?"
"Nope! You can watch or do something upstairs or something," Marella assures.
"Let's talk to some dead chics!" Keefe exclaims.
Marella glares at him, "I'm serious Keefe no funny business or you might be putting all of us including yourself in danger."
He nods and sits next to me wrapping his arm around my shoulders, "I know Foster here will protect me though!"
"Ha!" I scoff removing his arm off me. "If you enrage a spirit you are on your own."
Keefe puts his hand to his heart, "I am wounded Foster!"
"Alright, alright can we just play already?" Tam snaps going right back to his emo mood.
Linh decides to go upstairs with Wylie and watch another movie or something. Marella carefully takes the game board out from the box along with the triangle shaped pointer thing. We all place two fingers on the planchette except Dex and Biana who are going to write down everything.
"Ready?" Marella asks.
We all no giving her the all clear.
She moves the planchette around the board saying, "We are here, surrounded by light, to made positive communication and seek positive energy. Are there any spirits who would like to talk?"
We stop moving the planchette and wait a few minutes before it starts to move towards yes. I let out a shaky breath trying to calm my nerves.
"Do you come with light?" Marella questions.
Yes.
"What is your name?" I ask.
Jolie.
"I'm Marella! How old are you?" Marella takes over again.
36.
"I'm 14. What year were you born?"
1984.
"What is your favorite color?"
Pale Purple.
"Nice, mine is probably pink! What was your soul mark?"
It was a grey-blue puppy.
"That's so fun! Well I should go, goodbye!" Marella forces the planchette to the goodbye area and takes it off the board.
We all stare at her with shocked expressions on our faces, well accept Tam, he talks to gohsts all the time. She giggles at us.
"What?" she asks.
Fitz breaks the silence, "Are you some sort of witch?!"
"It's called a medium dummy," Biana corrects swatting him on the head.
I squeal startling everyone, "I love you guys so much this has been the best birthday ever!"
Dex looks down at his watch, "30 seconds. Linh Wylie get down here, Sophie's soul mark is about to appear!"
I stare at my wrist waiting for something to appear. Please don't be something stupid. Please, please, please don't be something stupid or ugly! I plead in my head. An outline of something starts to fade onto my wrist. When I can see the picture more clearly I see that it is, two people with linked arms and in the backround a can of hairspray.
I am so sorry for the late update! I just got back into school and have been stressing a bunch. We will try to update as much as we can.
