Night Terrors

A/n: I haven't written in months so hopefully this isn't total garbage

Aizawa's been having night terrors for years, tonight he's got a particularly bad one

"Shou, are you okay...?" You ask sitting up. It was rare you heard him, let alone saw him cry. You'd woken up to his sudden jolt in the bed and as you'd sat up he'd started crying. "Hey," you whispered putting your hand on his back just under his shoulder. "It's alright. What's wrong?"
He turned to you his cheeks smeared in tears. The sight nearly broke your heart.

"Y-y/n? I'm sorry I woke you up."

"What's wrong?" You asked again. You knew he really didn't like to be pushed into sharing with you but you were almost on autopilot just desperate to know what could've hurt him so badly. You knew he had night terrors, they usually didn't wake you up and Shouta never seemed too bothered by them. You almost never talked about them. It was just one of those things.

"I'm fine, just go back to sleep." He sounded pained and quiet. Y/n just brought her hand down to the bed slowly. The room was completely silent save for some cricket sounds from outside.

Shouta shifted so his whole body was facing her. He put his hand on top of hers. "I just... I'm so used to these, I frequently feel like I'm drowning or can't save people, but it's never been you. You.. you've never been the one dying." His voice cracked at the end as he wrapped his arms around y/n tears falling down onto your shoulders.

"I really can't lose you. Not on top of everything else. I really can't." He said pressing his forehead against yours. "You're not going to Shouta, I promise." You stayed like that for a good two minutes before he even opened his eyes. "I'm sorry I woke you up." He wasn't making eye contact even though you could see he desperately wanted to. You swiftly pulled his face towards yours and kissed him. You let go after just a second. He looked at you vulnerably. "It's fine," you said smiling at him.

"C'mere." He laid down next to you and wrapped his arms around your waist pressing his nose into your neck. "I really love you." He said quietly. "I love you too." He slowly drifted back to sleep knowing you were safe right there with him.
