Jay took his new mate who had been crying since Jay had grabbed her back to his room in the palace. The palace was very beautiful and elegant in some areas and in others they were cold and intimidating. Since Jay was the newly appointed beta, basically second in command, he got to have his own room in the palace. Not all betas live with the alpha and only this pack the Spinjitzu pack was the largest they had a palace to call home and house the higher ups of the pack. The second largest had a castle, but it was nothing compared to their palace.
Jay looked back at the girl with the smeared makeup and puffy eyes and felt his heart wrench. He knew he was taking her away from her home possibly her family, but the second he had her scent breathed in he didn't want to leave her. When Cole had started sniffing her he was willing to strangle him alpha or not.
He finally got to his room and opened it. A big king sized bed with blue silk sheets was at one end and big stained glass windows with curtains drawn too. There was a table with all his work in progress inventions with a few blue prints. There was a couch to sit or lay on along with a tv to watch in bed if liked. Jay looked at his watch seeing it was late.
"Stay here for a second okay?" He asks in a calm and relax manner. The girl flinches at his voice, but nodded numbly fiddling with her necklace. Jay left and came back with a bag of clothes he had bought for when he eventually found his mate. Honestly that dress did not look good on her in his opinion she was still beautiful, but she just clearly felt uncomfortable in it with him there looking at her. "These are all for you find something comfortable you want to wear and put it on then you can sleep in the bed," Jay explains to her. She seems to pause at the last thing and asked. "Are you gonna mate me?" She asks quietly. Jay didn't blames her for asking that question it's what almost everyone did once finding their mates. If they mate they are also marked meaning that they need to back off or else. It was dangerous for a mate to go unmarked once meeting their mate, but Jay didn't want to just get straight in bed without her totally comfortable.
"No don't worry I'm not going to do that until your comfortable. I'll answer any questions in the morning for now it's late and you should get to bed the bathroom is over there if you want to wash up in there. I'm going to check on Cole it's part of my job after the ceremony," Jay explains. "Are we gonna sleep in the same bed?" The girl asks. Jay thought for a moment the girl did look like a cute teddy bear and he would love to cuddle her, but... "No I'll sleep on the couch tonight we can discuss everything tomorrow," Jay said. The girl nodded and Jay smiles about to leave when she said. "Your not like the other one," Jay turned curious. "What do you mean?" She must have not meant to say it out loud because she just took the bags of clothes and left to the bathroom. Jay stood there a moment before shaking it off and left to go wait out front for Cole to return with his possible mate.
Lou was already there waiting for his son. Lou gave up his title to Cole four years ago and the two had very different styles of ruling the pack. Lou was all about keeping things strict and often didn't listen to a entire story before deciding his judgement. Cole was different because he did keep order, but he didn't go all out for small crimes and sometimes listened to why the crime was commuted before sentencing. Though they were both very different alphas they both loved each other and respected each other. Lou was eager for Cole to bring home a mate because he wanted a Luna to watch over Cole before he died.
Jay's POV
I hope whoever Cole was looking at was his mate then I could rub it in his face I was right. I love my mate already and I can't wait to get to know her. She seems really afraid of everything though she might be skittish or shy. She did mention not like the other one who did she mean? Because a wolf wasn't allowed to interact with any human who wasn't their mate and she said this was her first time in the car on the way here. So what did she mean? Did she specifically mean a wolf?
