"What is that face all about?" Kunot noong sabi ng doctor na kaharap ko ngayon.

Honestly Jaylord Consunji isn't a bad catch. Mayaman nga ito sa muscles eh, now that he is just wearing a T-shirt ay defined na defined ang alaga sa gym niyang built. I will bet my virginity he has 8 packs abs. May pinag aralan din ito kasi nagtyagang mag-doctor, not many have the patience to study long years. May hitsura rin kung sa hitsura lang din ang basehan. Yun nga lang he is chinito―sayang!

He is impeccable but that! I am not drooling over chinitos. Hindi ako fan.

Iba pa din ang mata ni Miller ko! Charoot!

I closed the lid of my tumbler at saka siya sinagot.

"You are not bad you know"

"Philippine Airlines flight number PR1856 bound to Puerto Princesa is now accepting business class passengers for boarding"

"What do you mean I am not bad?" he said sabay kuha sa dalawang carry-on luggage sa tabi ko, matapos naming marinig ang anunsyo ng airport staff.

"As if you are oblivious on your effect over the ladies around here doc" sabi ko sabay tayo na din.

Lumingon siya sa paligid just to see if I was telling the truth and then he just shrugged.

"Ay wow" turan ko sa kanya.

"They have eyes, of course they'd stare silly"

"Sa iyo lang kaya sila nakatingin"

Pero nagkibit ulit siya ng balikat.

"Wala kang paki ganon?" I asked him nang papasok na kami sa eroplano. Pati nga yung ground steward nagpapa-cute sa kanya.

"They don't matter to me Ms Gomez. I have my eyes on you" baling niya sa akin.

"Are you flirting with me doctor?" Imbes na masuya sa pahangin niya ay na-amuse pa ako.

"I guess so but it seems that you do not care at all, it's ok you are auctioned to me anyway so you are mine these days"

"G-A-G-O" I spelled him the letters.

"Baka gwapo?" he grinned.

"Whatever airhead" I scoffed at him.

Tinawanan lang ako sa sinabi ko. I must admit that Jaylord Consunji isn't a boring man. He looks intelligent alright and he really is, base narin kung papaano niya dalhin ang conversation namin sa eroplano.

He explains a lot. Siguro dahil doctor siya? But he sees to it that his point of view doesn't overlap yours.

May respeto.

"What is with you? You have been looking at me for the nth time Viv" he asked. Nakatanga na naman pala ako sa kanya.

Of course I was trying to see what could make my attention turn to him, kasi hindi talaga siya pwedeng itapon lang, alam mo iyon?

Chinito lang kasi siya.

"Viv? Just who told you that name" nawala ang focus ko sa ginawa niyang pagtawag sa akin.

"I was just trying to call you with other name, everybody calls you Gen, para maiba lang ako"

"Hindi ah!" I denied. Kasi pati naman si Miller yun ang tawag sa akin. Ewan parang may mali na may ibang tumatawag sa akin ng Viv.

"Naman pala, so it's not the first time that someone has called you such do not argue on little things Genevieve"

"Ah ewan ko sa'yo, ang dami mong alam"

"Overthinking creates anxiety you know, if I were you,―"

"―It's not overthinking"

He looked at me for a while. "Ok, don't wanna argue"

Ganon lang kadali. He dropped every possibility of him insisting on what he thinks. Dahil lang sa ayaw maki-argue.

"Swerte ng magiging girlfriend mo" I mumbled at him.

"I know" Siryosong sabi niya sabay akay sa akin pasakay sa kotse na naghihintay sa parking ng airport.

"Ganyan ka ba talaga?" I can't help but wonder.

"What do you mean?"

"You do not insist on things, hindi naman kabawasan sa kagwapuhan mo kung pinipilit mo ang gusto mo. Many prefer you know, yung medyo bastos?"

He laughed hard at what I said. "Do you want me to insist on you na bastusin ka?"

Hindi ko alam kung paano siya sasagutin sa sinabi niya kasi para namang may double meaning.

"Let me clear one thing doctor, you are not my type."

He stared for me for quite sometime and then gave me a sly smile.

"Noted Viv, noted" he said and then looked outside through the car's window. Sumandal pa siya sa headrest at saka ipinikit ang mga mata.

He isn't really bad at all. But sometimes kung hindi mo talaga trip ay hindi mo trip.

"Stop staring at me, you might eat your words" sabi niya sabay ngiti. Hindi parin niya idinidilat ang mga mga mata niya.

"I am not staring. I am gawking"

"If you say so, both words mean thesame to me, now let me sleep, I've had a long shift."

Hindi ko na itinama ang simpleng pagkakaiba ng staring at gawking. Yung driver nalang ang binalingan ko ng tingin. I caught him looking at me thru the rear view mirror.

"Please mind the road and stop staring" I commented.

"I am only guh-king ma'am" he answered sabay ngiti.

Ang halakhak ni Jaylord Consunji ang lumukob sa katahimikan sa loob ng sasakyan. And I thought he was sleeping.

Natawa narin ako sa sinabi ng driver. Hindi na natulog si Jaylord, he said it was impossibile to sleep near me.

Kaya nakipagkwentuhan nalang kami sa driver. Noon ko napag-alaman na katiwala pala nila ito sa isla.

"Madami bang tao sa resort Junyo?" The doctor asked.

"Madami Sir, may mga nag so-shooting kasi"

Napangiti ako sa narinig. I stretched my limbs and heaved an excited sigh.

Of course it's them. Ang kampo ni Light Miller. May balak naman talaga akong mag-Palawan para sundan siya. Nataon lang na nagimbita din itong doctor at laking tuwa ko nang banggitin ang pangalan ng Isla nila.

The very same island kung nasaan ang kampo ni Miller ngayon.

"Malapit na ba tayo?" I asked innocently.

"Almost" the doctor said and yawns.

Pero yung malapit niya ay inabot ng isang oras pa. Hindi nalang ako nagkomento nang may speedboat pang ganapan.

The least thing that I would want to have right now is a stressed face. Not when Miller's gonna be there. Besides ako itong hindi nagreresearch ng pupuntahan. Basta sakay nalang ng sakay ng eroplano. Magkapatid nga kami ni Gam!

I smiled at the thought of her. Oh how I love and hate her at the same time.
