Minho - age 10
Jisung - age 9

"Hey, Sungie!" A loud shout rung in Jisung's ears and he immediately turned around to see Minho waving at him. He smiled, waving back but then realized someone was next to Minho. He tilted his head strangely until Minho noticed and seemed to nod his head at that.

They both came closer until they met in the middle. "Sungie, this is my friend, Changbin." Minho introduced, Changbin just waved at him but didn't seem quite interested in him. "Hi.." Jisung said, waving back at him but still confused.

It was Saturday and they didn't have school. Minho thought this might've been the perfect day to introduce Jisung to his new friend, whereas Jisung thought it'd be the perfect day to just hang with Minho at the park.

"So... I heard you're going to middle school soon after the break." Jisung said, earning an excited nod from Minho. "Yeah, I'm a little nervous but excited." Jisung just smiled as Minho continued ranting about how things will change drastically as it was a whole new school building he'd be going to.

But for Jisung, he didn't like the sound of moving schools one bit. He liked it in elementary school and never wanted to leave. He had such great teachers, not such good classmates but that's besides the point.

As the two talked, Minho's friend, Changbin, didn't seem quite interested. "Ugh, can we just go to the park already? I'm getting bored." He said, earning a surprised look from both of them. "Uh.. sure, you coming Sungie?" Minho asked, looking over at Jisung for confirmation.

The younger was about to say something until he noticed Minho's friend was glaring at him. He also noticed how he had his arm wrapped around Minho's neck. He played with his sleeves for a bit before shaking his head. Changbin just turned away from him while Minho seemed concerned.

"Is there something wrong Sungie?" Jisung just shook his head, urging for Minho to go to the park without him. Minho just nodded and pat Jisung on the shoulder before following Changbin to the park.

The younger just needed some personal time to think about things.

The boy sat at his desk, elbow propped up with his cheek being held by his hand. He sighed, tapping his fingers against the hard surface as he thought back to earlier.

That stare, well, more like a glare actually. He couldn't get that moment out of his head. Minho's new friend didn't seem to like him as much as Minho did but maybe it was just because they didn't share the same bond that he and Minho had. Or maybe he didn't really mean to make him uncomfortable and maybe it was just how he looked at people usually.

Jisung didn't know. All he knew was just that he felt uncomfortable or judged by that 'glare' the other gave him.

Other than the incident from earlier, he started to think about him and Minho. He thought back to the times where they had deep conversations with each other, (which they didn't usually do since they weren't really the serious kind of peopl) "Did Minho still like him?" He thought. He wasn't really sure where their relationship stood on the map now as it was awfully confusing.

Times were changing and they were growing, he couldn't possibly think their relationship would stay the same as it did about three years ago. But as their relationship grew and developed, there were obstacles to be interfering with it, just like anything that seems beneficial.

It's like going on a diet. Sure, it's beneficial for you body and will help you lose wait but it's also got some cons along with the pros. The problem of self-control arises and so does the unhealthy eating habits. And sometimes, you may not even be consuming the healthy amount of calories regardless if on a diet or not.

It's what their relationship seemed like, just all the more complicated.

Jisung really shouldn't be over-thinking his friendships and relationships at such a young age but with everything that's been going on, the younger felt like he had to. He was going to have to anyway in the future and he knew it. That's the part he feared the most, and so he might as well just prepare for it as he couldn't avoid it.

He could be enjoying his childhood while he still could at the moment as he was only still in elementary school, but instead, he just didn't. Or more like, he couldn't. And so, rather than playing around and all, he started preparing for the future. More of fearing/worrying for the future but it wasn't like he control how he was.

The days were shortening, yet his worry for the big world never stopped expanding. Everything was currently closing in on him at the moment and it just seemed like he wasn't ready for it at all. Although he had spent numerous amounts of times trying to prepare for the unexpected, in the end, it always seemed like life found a way around that.
