A introduction; Before you venture.
He gritted his teeth in fury and squeezed the paper he held. Once again, his daughter had succeeded in bringing a nonsense result back home. All he cares about right now, is how to lash out the young girl standing at his front.
"when will you ever make me proud," he said, anger evident in his tone. He looked at the result sheet one more time and shook his head. How can a normal human being get an E in her core subjects and still have the effrontery to bring such a result back to her father.
"when will you ever make your mum and I proud, why can't you be like Susie for crying out loud". He said as he banged his hands on the table nearest to him.The sound of the loud bang, made her head jerk up. She couldn't even look up to her father the whole time he talked. It wasn't a new thing to her. Every end of the term, she always had that talk with her father. But what she hated the most was being compared to her elder sister. When would they all accept the fact that she and her sister are two different people's? She was still lost in thought when of a sudden, she felt a stung in her cheeks. She looked up to see her father glaring at her.
"I just pity your life, you're just a failure to this entire household and I pray you'll not be a failure in your life." He said as he walked out on the poor girl whose eyes were already filled with tears.
The tears she had been holding, flowed freely from her eyes. How can a father call his own child a failure? Sometimes she couldn't help but wonder if she was really a real child but of course she was. She was a perfect carbon copy of her mum. As absurd as it sounded, she had once ransacked the whole house looking for an adoption letter that will explain why she was treated like an outcast but well.... Baby sense.
As she made her way up the stairs, she couldn't help but wander her thoughts back to those good old days. She was never good academically in her childhood but at least she was not as dull as she is now. Everything came crashing down at the incident that happened, the thing that changed her life forever. She wiped the tears from her eyes as she opened the door of her room. She roughly sat down on her bed and wandered her thoughts back to the conversation she had earlier with her father.
She didn't know when she started crying until she felt the tears drop on her cheeks.
Just why the heck am I crying.?
It hurt her as hell as she reminscied all what she had been through. She was just fifteen but yet life had shown her trails. She allowed the tears to flow down as she sat up on the bed and hugged her knee to her chest. If she could wish for one thing at that moment, it'd be to get a hug from her favourite person. Not just any kind of hug but the kind that made you relief, the kind that made you feel assured like there was someone out there who truly cared for you. But then it was not about the hug, who could she consider her a favourite person to give her such.
Her hands trailed down to the white substance under her pillow. She carefully removed it and sniffed it. She sniffed it until she was satisfied and slowly she found herself lindering to la la land.
Even if nobody shows care, then at least they won't care when they find out the truth, right?
