The glass door Chloe's record shop opens with a quick jerk, attracting the attention of patrons throughout the shop. Darla rushed in with a look on her face that would make a mean pit bull cower. One of Chloe's employees, Jackie, rises to confront the unwelcome guest, but a quickly drawn pistol in Darla's hand makes her give pause. The other two employees, Red and Hacker, place their hands on their weapons in response.
Darla looks disheveled, on the verge of an emotional collapse. The immaculate look she usually had is gone, replaced by clothes that looked like they have been worn for more than a day. Her red teary eye looks back and forth, looking for something, or someone. She eyes the employees with the utmost animosity one could ever have. She raises her pistol to eye level, aiming it wildly from one of the other not locking onto one for very long.
"Where is she?! Where is that bitch Chloe? I want to see her now!" demands Darla.
Chloe slowly appeared from the back hallway in her usual black goth garb, arms holding her signature walking stick gingerly in her hands. Her wide glaring eyes look at Darla with a hard unflinching look. She leans over and places her stick against a nearby counter as she approaches Darla. She spreads her arms slowly as she still approaches.
"What's all this? Why are you here Darla?" Chloe inquiries.
"We had a truce! Now she dead! I'm going to make all you all pay! You, That blonde bitch Ivanova, and especially Maxine," threatens Darla.
Chloe motions her hands in downward to calm Darla, "Calm yourself, who died?"
Darla's face strains to hold back her emotion. She grits her teeth as she threatens with the pistol, "My sister Jillian!"
Darla suddenly lowers her pistol and buries her face into her hand, " She had her innocence back, before... before the army, CIA, Krane industries, everything."
Darla sinks to the floor, "She had her innocence, it's not fair... I'm the one who should have been killed, not her..."
Chloe moves closer cautiously, she offers her hand to her most hated rival, the woman who hurt one of her employees and damaged her shop, the one who pierced Chloe's shoulder with a katana. Darla slowly took Chloe's hand and rises to her feet as Chloe cautiously puts her arm around her shoulder.
"Come, Darla, why don't you come to my office ok? Rest and relax and have a few stiff drinks to calm you down, ok?" Chloe says as she gently takes Darla's pistol and passes it to Red, her employee.
Chloe shakes her head in response to a question about calling for help from anybody. The pair slowly make their way down the hall. Jackie, whom Darla injured in the past, looks on with contempt. She almost goes to the back but Hacker stops her and redirects her to her station.
Inside, Chloe puts Darla on a loveseat in her office as she goes to her private bar. She takes a couple of small glasses and pours an amber-colored liquid from an ornate bottle. She turns and promptly approaches and hands Darla one of the glasses.
"Darla, you think that I would break the truce? If I did that I couldn't do business with any of the families in this city, You know that." chastises Chloe.
Darla downs her drink in one quick movement and looks away. Chloe pours another drink for her. It seems that Darla was avoiding eye contact with her. Darla takes a long look at her filled glass as if questions were bouncing around in her head, but one stood out above the rest.
"Why are you being nice to me? I mean I came here with the expressed intent to kill you, after all, so why?" Darla asks still looking intently at the glass.
Chloe finishes her drink and sets it down on the nearby table with a sigh, "Because maybe in a sort of weird crazy way, I regard you as a kind of family I suppose."
Darla looks at Chloe with furrowed eyebrows, "Family?"
"Well... not exactly, I mean someone who has a connection, like a person who would..." Chloe trailed off.
"Would what?"
"Hell, I don't know someone who can care for you like a sister, or maybe a mate who would love you I guess." rambles Chloe.
Darla scoffs, "Love, can anyone show me, love?"
Darla turns toward Chloe with another retort but is stunned to silence as she ends up face to face with Chloe. Chloe swallows as she looks over Darla's still disheveled face, the woman who hurt one of her employees, Jackie, and put a katana in her shoulder but somehow at that moment, it didn't matter. Darla looks closer at Chloe, the woman who took out her eye and caused her sister's memory loss, but somehow that didn't matter at that moment either.
In the pain they caused each other, they were imperfectly connected but connected nonetheless.
Darla moves in, joining her lips to Chloe's. Chloe responds with more passion causing Darla to moan.
"Can you show love, Chloe? Even for me?" Darla whispers.
"Yes," Chloe answers quietly as another passionate kiss begins.
Darla pushes Chloe on her back on the loveseat and looks her in the eyes.
"Then love me... Please."
Chloe pulls Darla close to her body and begins another kiss. Soon, their bodies were beginning to intertwine with each other. Blouses were slowly becoming undone from the women. Skirts were starting to be pulled up as passions, possibly fueled by Chloe's drinks, get more intense.
"Hey Chloe you in here? I got a favor to ask. What the FUCK?!"
Startled, Chloe and Darla look to the newly opened door, revealing a shocked looking Maxine holding the doorknob.
