The Shady Crab is a popular restaurant that is situated on the banks of the river that runs through the city's center. The restaurant boasts of a large outdoor dining area that overlooks the river and gives a spectacular view of the city lights at night.

Chloe and Sophia sit across from each other facing the city lights. Sophia wearing a casual chic outfit consisting of a dark blazer over a blouse and matching color slacks that filed out her seemingly demure frame. Chloe wears a white long sleeve blouse layered with a conservative black dress, no eccentric dress tonight.

"So, how did a girl like you end up in a city like this?" Chloe asks as she interfaces her fingers in front of her lowering head.

Sofia looks down on her plate as she shrugs a little, "Oh just work, my boss wanted me here in a hurry, So much so that I didn't have time to get an apartment so he set me up in a hotel, over there across the river."

Chloe looks over to where Sophia gestured. There, the Carter Hotel stands among the glow of the lights of the city. She looks back at Sophia with an approving nod.

"That is some boss, You must be very important to his company," Chloe comments.

"Well you could say that I am the bosses right hand so to speak, I mean nothing gets done unless I make sure it goes without a hitch," Sophia comments.

Chloe leans forward onto the table, looking more directly at Sophie, "What kind of business are you in? If I may be so bold as to ask."

Sophia puts on a small slight smile, "Finance mostly, with some shipping of goods thrown in, lot of big-name clients that I can't tell you about, you understand of course."

Chloe nods her agreement to the assessment, "Yeah, I know what you mean, I have to keep some of my customers on a low-key basis as well."

Sophia borrowed her brow as she looks down on her food as if a topic came to her mind.

"Hey Chloe, can I ask you something?" Sophia prods.

Chloe looks at Sophia with a wide-eyed look as she puts down her fork, "Sure, ask away."

"How long have you and Maxine been friends?" Sophia asks.

"How do you know that we are?" Chloe asks as if trying to defer the question.

Sophia shrugs as she chews her food and looks away, after a moment she looks back at Chloe, "Well she gave that impression that you were that friend that was super annoying but close so she just puts up with it."

Chloe looks at Sophia with quiet wonder, "That is very observant of you."

Sophia smiles a little, "Well it helps to be that way in my line of work."

Chloe looks away toward the river and notices a lighted footbridge that spans the river near the restaurant. The hotel where Sophia is staying is situated near the end of the bridge.

Chloe looks back at Sophia with a smile on her face, "Walk you home, and I will tell you a little bit about Maxine and me."e

Sophie nods with a smile after noticing the bridge, "Ok, let's go."

The two women walk side by side, Sophia walks with her arms crossed as Chloe's arms are behind her. A slight breeze off the driver blows around the duo. Sophia pulls back her hair as she laughs at something that Chloe has said.

"So you have known Maxine that long?" she asks.

"Yeah, since we served together so long ago, yeah," Chloe answers

"I can't see you in the military, wearing all that green." teases Sophia

Chloe scoffs a little, "Well it's not green all the time."

Sophia smiles at Chloe's comment but as she looks out to the city lights her smile dulled a bit, "Hey uh Chloe, did you and Maxine ever date?"

Chloe looks over at Sophia with a puzzled look, "Why the interest?"

"I don't know, just curious I suppose, if it is a touchy subject I'm sorry I didn't mean to.."

Chloe laughs a little with a reassuring hand on Sophia's shoulder, "It's ok, I'm joking, but to answer your very personal question, no, we never dated, but it wasn't for the lack of trying on my part though."

"Why?" Sophia inquires.

Chloe shrugs, "She wasn't into women at that time I guess, It's alright though, we figured it wouldn't work out anyway."

The two women walk for some time in comfortable silence. Chloe occasionally sneaking looks at Sophia, seeing how the night lights play on her hair. The pair make it to the front of the hotel.

The pair make their way across the lobby and into the elevator. The pair look out of the glass wall of the elevator overlooking the lobby. Sophia gingerly grasps Chloe's hand. Chloe looks at Sophia in her eyes as she pulls closer to her. Sophia places her hand behind Chloe's head as a kiss is shared between them.

The chime of the elevator alerts them, and the part a little. Sophia pulls Chloe out and along the hallway to the door of her room. She takes out the key card and opens the door in one fluid movement. She holds the door open while leaning back on it, looking seductively at Chloe.

"Want to come in for a minute or two?"

Chloe looks at Sophie as her predatory smile makes an appearance, "I would love to."

Sophie giggles as she goes deeper into her room, beckoning Chloe to follow her. Chloe continues her smile as she enters and closes the door slowly behind her.

Laugher and then a sudden soft moan could be heard before the door clicks shut.
