That night Celeana laid awake in bed reminiscing the afternoon with Paul. She found her attraction to him so odd. Everything about him pulled her in, and she couldn't deny that she had no problem with it. Was it too early for her to say he was perfect? He wasn't exactly what she envisioned when she imagined her "perfect" man, but he had all the basics down. He was kind and honest with her. He knew when to push but also keep to her boundaries. She didn't know if she was ready for anything serious, and he seemed to understand that, which compelled her to agree to the date.

She wasn't worried about the comments Bella had made regarding Paul's reputation with women. Obviously, Paul's an extremely attractive guy, as are the rest of the wolves-probably something to do with the wolf gene-, so she wasn't going to guess he didn't get attention from the female population. But at the same time, she wasn't one to assume things about people, and base those assumptions on other people's opinions. Why would she hold something like that against him? Especially when she had yet to see anything close to that actually occur with him. The past is the past. End of story.

It was around midnight now and she was still thinking about the tanned-boy. Suddenly, she felt a sudden pain in her chest. Small at first, which caused her to rub her chest and cough a bit, but with time it only worsened. Fire and ice were interweaved, spreading throughout her body, crawling up and down her arms, in her veins. Soon even breathing hurt, causing her to clench her teeth to keep down a cry, not wanting to wake anyone up. She hoped that Edward was still in Bella's room, like he usually was and tried to open up her mind to him.

'I know we're not on the best of terms but something is very wrong right now' she thought, hoping he'd hear her. The pack had informed her of how some vampires had abilities, and she knew about Edward's specifically. A slight breeze was felt and suddenly she was encased in cold arms. Feeling her head getting fuzzy, that last thing she saw was Edward climbing out of her window with her in his arms.

Celeana was out cold when Edward arrived at the Cullen's house, deep in the woods.

"Carlisle!" The blonde vampire suddenly stood next to his adopted son, trying to figure out why he sounded so frantic this late at night.

"What's the matter, Edward?" he questioned before looking down at the girl in his arms. "What's wrong with her?" Carlisle asked, leading his son to a room set up with standard hospital equipment. The room was created when the family returned from their absence following Bella's birthday incident.

"I don't know. When I was with Bella, it was if she sent a thought to me claiming that something was wrong. It was the first time I was able to hear her thoughts, but that's all I heard."

Edward laid the girl on the bed. She was whimpering, the only other sign of life being the almost constant twitches her body made. Her body arched off of the bed before a sharp scream left her lips. The two vampires watched shocked as her canines sharpened slowly, followed by her ears, which lengthed to points.

Other, less noticeable changes were seen. Her hair, normally a sandy blonde, became much lighter, a platinum. Her facial features, like her teeth and ears, seemed to sharpen and became more beautiful. Almost as if she was an immortal, alone with the two in the room with her.

The doctor couldn't believe what he was seeing. He'd never thought he'd be able to meet one after what the Volturi had done all those years ago. Now he was witnessing a youngling's inheritance.

"Impossible..." Edward muttered, having read about this species in Carlisle's study. "Aren't they meant to be extinct?"

"I don't know how this is possible, but we might be the only ones able to help her through this." The doctor said solemnly, knowing that Fae were not meant to be in this realm any more. He didn't know what he could possibly teach her, what with knowing only what was documented in books, and was disappointed to think that she would have to go through the brunt of her transition alone.

While the two vampires stood stuck in their thoughts, they failed to notice how still Celeana's body went. After taking a deep breath, still going unnoticed by the two immortals, the young Fae shot up in her seat and with glowing eyes, let out a menacing growl that bleed into the dark night.
