(Ah who doesn't love a good soulmate au. I know I do and I've wanted to write one for a while. I might end up writing one for the others as well, but for now, I think Murdoc would be the most interesting)
This is set in a world where when you hit age 10, a tattoo appears on your wrist. Though you have this to help guide you to your soulmate, some end up not finding theirs.

First, your best friend found hers. Then your sister. Then like 3 of your cousins. Then, it seemed like everyone else in the world except you found their soulmate. You were only 29, yet you were ready to give up. Seeing everyone loving someone, experiencing that kind of thing.. it drained you emotionally. You were done searching every crack and crevice for your 'one true love'.
Murdoc felt the same way. Being 54 killed his spirit for finding his soulmate. Actually, when he hit the age of 40 is when he lost all hope. Usually by 35 everyone had found their soulmate and were living their best lives. Sure when he was 10 he was excited as hell to find someone who could finally love him. But just like you, he's done searching.
You both had a little flame as your tattoo. It kind of resembled Calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle. You thought it was cute. Murdoc thought it was stupid. Despite the both of you having the perseverance of a child, you didn't have too much in common. People do say opposites attract though.

Your sisters husband, David, decided to take you to some concert he was going to since your sister had work. You could definitely tell that they were made for each other. They were like that picture perfect Instagram couple that was always traveling and going on adventures together. You couldn't lie, you were jealous. She was 4 years younger than you and already living her perfect life. You were happy for her though and you and David got along well.
"Hey Bavid," You said getting into his car. For some reason putting a hard 'B' in front of everyone's name was the funniest thing to you.
"Bavid?" He laughed a little at the nickname.
"Yes, Bavid."
"Alright sure. You all good? Phone charged? Went to the bathroom? I don't want to have to get up in the middle to go do something. I don't want to miss a thing."
"Yes father," you said rolling your eyes. "Will I even like them? I haven't heard a single one of their songs."
"I'm sure you've heard something from them. If not, yea. You'll like 'em."
"Ight. I'll trust you on this, but if not you owe me DQ."
"For sure."
"K cool. I'm gonna take a nap. Goodnight Bavid."
"Hmph"

We arrived around 9:30 and headed to our seats. They weren't the best, but they're not awful. I'm assuming we're gonna have to watch from the screen. I was receiving quite a few weird looks though...
"Bavid, do I look ok?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"I'm probably just being self conscious.."
