jily: more than friends

James

It is five days before the dance and I still don't know who I want to ask, I mean, I am so charming every girl wants to go with me, other than the girl I specifically want to go with, Lily Evans. Well, at least I think she doesn't want to.

I am walking to class when someone pulls me into a corner by my arm, I try to pull back but a familiar voice says "calm down Potter and get over here!" Sirius, of course. I let him pull me into an empty classroom, where I find Marlene, Alice, Moony, Padfoot and Wormtail. "What's going on?" I ask slightly confused. "You idiot," Alice says. I look at her with confusion. "Look Prongs, we will make this quite easy," Remus says, Sirius continues his sentence "we know you want to ask Lily to the dance," "so, we are here to help." Mar finishes off the sentence. "Uhhh..." I say, still confused. "We all have different idea's, do you have one James?" Alice asks. I say "uh... well kinda?"                                                                                                                                                                                        "See, my idea was you should just ask her, how hard can that be?" Sirius says. "Sirius that is stupid, I think you should put a prank in the Great Hall, with a banner or something!" Marlene says with confidence. "Mar, only do that if you want a weeks worth of detention, I was thinking you should ask her by writing it on the chalkboard of the potions class." Peter says. "Borrringgggg!" Alice says "You should put it in her book!" She continues. "And you say mines boring?" Peter mumbles. "Shut it, Pettigrew." Alice says jokingly                                                                      "Moony, do you have an idea?" I ask Remus. She responds with a quick "Yes." "Go on, tell us then!" Sirius says with anticipation. "Well, I was kinda thinking you could set up a rose path which leads to a sign asking her." Remus suggests. Marlene and Alice let out a small "Ooooh" I like that idea, I also like mine, maybe we can mash them together?                                                               "I think we should mash mine and Moony's ideas together! Like I could dare her to follow the flowers or something?" I say with a happy tone. Everyone agrees. So now, we must get to planning. 

We spend the whole afternoon planning, we are doing it at night when we play our usual games.

**HOURS LATER**

LILY'S POV

It is around 10 PM and we all sit down to play Truth or Dare, we all race to the 2 person couch, as it is the only one open, me and James make it first. I find a comfy spot I like, James decides to sit up, which completely ruins my comfy spot so I have to find a new one. I find a postion, it is with my legs over than edge and my head on the cushions. I look for a pillow to rest my head against but Marlene and Peter stole the only ones that were on the couch, lucky me, my head would rest right into James's lap. Oh well, I want to put my head down to might as well, I plop my head onto his lap and he looks a little shocked but then turns his facial expression to happy. I roll my eyes. The game starts with Sirius asking Marlene if she has ever kissed somebody, it's a truth! Well obivously, shes the girl who snogged Black for 11.2 seconds. The game continues until it is James's turn he asks me...

JAMES'S POV

"Truth or dare Lily-flower?" I ask Lily, who's head is in my lap, gosh, she is so beautiful. All I think to myself while she is deciding is 'please say dare, please say dare Evans!'  "Dare," she replies. 'Yes!!' I think to myself. "I dare you to follow the roses." I say. She looks confused then looks around the room and see's a trail of roses leading out the door. She gets up and starts slowly walking. We all walk behind her. Sirius is next to me and shoots me a small smile. She follows the roses until we are outside the castle and down by the lake, I know she loves it there so thats where we set it up. She reaches the sign and reads it out loud: "Go to the Halloween Dance with me, Lily?" She turns around to face me and says "congratulations, Potter. You just earned yourself a date." OH MY MERLIN SHE SAID YES!!!!!!!!!!! All the others have started heading back. I gesture at her to come too but she says "wait James." "Ah! First name basis now are we?" I say in a silly tone. "Uh, no-yes-um-yeah I guess?" Lily replies with. She continues what she was gonna say; "Can we stay here for a while?" It's dark out and we will probably get in trouble but oh well, I nod and she brings me to a tree, we sit there for a little, the air frosty. It is a chilly fall night. She leans on my shoulder. I feel her shiver so i take my sweater off and give it to her. 

We sit outside for around 10 minutes when we decide its too cold to stay. We sneak back up to our dorms and head to bed.

LILY'S POV

After me and James sit outside for a while we go back inside. I change into my pajamas until i realize, I'm still wearing his sweater. Should I give it back? Well, I mean he hasn't asked for it so maybe its okay... I change into sweatpants and keep his sweter on. I head to bed with a smile on my face. I think I'm falling for James Potter.

Hey everyoneeee. ok so I decided I'm gonna let James and Lily fall in love sooner so uh yeahhh. Okay, also be proud I wrote almost 1 000 words okay?
