BLOODY MARY, those clichés horror scenes where you brush your teeth on the mirror and then there is a jump scare, smiling creepy reflections. There are many factors why some people hate to look in the mirror.
Do you even know that there is research about seeing monsters in a mirror? By meeting the proper conditions, you will literally witness your face distort or see scary images in the mirror. However, none of those is the reason why I hate them.
The sky was dark and you can already see the swarm of frantic workers pushing each other just so they can go home early to their family in front of the Mall. My girlfriend and I were at the Starbucks sipping on our shared Macha latte. Enjoying the sweet, romantic view from –
"Chris, I'm breaking up with you." Okay, so my ex-girlfriend and I were enjoying the not so sweet, romantic view from the second floor of Robinsons.
"What? You've got to be fucking with me, babe." I said. "Where is this coming from?" I tried not to raise my voice because we were outside and there are many people around us, even if I badly want to. This was not the first time we tried to end our long relationship. Well, that is if you consider a year and three months long.
"I just don't think that we're working anymore. A long-distance relationship is just not for us. We always fight, argue, and go for each other's throat. And I'm tired disappointing you, Chris." She explained.
"But that's what couples do, babe. They fight and go for each other's neck, but at the end of the day, we patch things up. Why do you always bring that up? When did I ever said that I'm disappointed to you?" my voice cracked. I do not really want to cry, but I just cannot help it. Especially that she has this look on her eyes. Those looks I know so well. Looks that means it is over for us. Looks that says she does not love me anymore.
"We're endgame, babe, remember?" I pleaded.
"I'm sorry, Chris. It's too much work and I'm starting to get tired already." She replied.
"Well, that's a work I'm willing to do." I countered.
"I'm not. Sorry, Chris."
As if on cue, the church bells beside the mall covered the loud noises of my heartbreaking, and the woman I loved for so long walked away from me. Gone, forever.
