❝Be kinder to yourself. And then let your kindness flood the world.❞ - Pema Chödrön
What is the first thing which comes to your mind when someone says self-care?
For us, it's soft and calming music, candles, bubble bath and a glass of wine.
However, self-care is much more than what we just mentioned. It's about making time for yourself, checking in with and processing your feelings, paying attention to your body and mind and how it reacts in certain situations. It's about setting healthy boundaries - both with yourself and others. Once you learn how to put this into practice, you're bound to live a more steady and peaceful life - stress and guilt-free (for more parts than not).
There are many ways of practicing self-care. It can be literally anything that makes your brain turn off for a while, anything that you know will calm your mind, anything that will make you feel better.
How about sleeping in or taking a nap, getting some fresh air, reading and/or writing, cooking nutritious meals for yourself, gardening, painting, connecting or disconnecting - whatever your heart desires!
Your self-care practices can also change with each season so your body and mind would be more in sync with nature and its cycle. We are, of course, no professionals in this field, however, we wrote down some Autumn Self-Care tips that you might enjoy:
