Summer's Fury

It was a Sunday morning. Summer was still fast asleep.

"Wake up, wake up sleepy head" her Aunt Melina yelled from the door.

"Come on aunt Melina. It's still so early. Just five more minutes." Summer lamented.

"What do you mean by it's still so early?! It's 7:30 am. So get your butt off the bed." Aunt Melina said.

Summer got off the bed and tried to make her way to the door still feeling sleepy. Unfortunately, she hit her head on the wall.

"Goddamn it! I hit my head again. Man, I really need to stop walking with my eyes partially closed." Summer said as she felt her head.

"Is everything okay up there?" Melina yelled.

"Yes! Everything's all good! What could possibly go wrong. It's not like I hit my head or anything." Summer replied feeling anxious.

She wore her extra large hoodie to cover up the redness of the bumped spot on her head. When she got downstairs, she noticed that her Aunt had already cleaned up the house, made breakfast was dressed to go out.

"Are you heading somewhere Aunt Melina?" Summer asked

"Yes, I'm going for a meeting. I'll be back pretty late so don't stay up waiting for me and go to bed early." Aunt Melina said

"Okay, bye Aunt" Summer said as she slammed the door behind Her Aunt.

"Maybe I should go out as well." Summer thought. She called up Kylie and Renay but sadly, they weren't free.

"Hey, Kylie, Um, I was wondering if we could like go out some..."

"Sorry Summer but I have to babysit my cousin today" Kylie interrupted

Summer called up Renay next but she wasn't picking up so she just decided to go solo.

On her way to her favorite café, she crossed paths with Vicky.

"Darn it. It's the devil's sister. I really don't have the strength for an argument or a fight today so i'd better avoid her." Summer thought.

"Wow Summer, don't you think it's a little rude to pretend like you didn't see your own classmate?" Vicky said

"Please Vicky, just let me be. I don't have time for your games right now." Summer said.

"Sure, okay. Go your way" Vicky replied.

As Summer passed Vicky, Vicky pulled Summer's hoodie.

"What's with the hoodie, Summer?"

Summer wore her hoodie back while giving Vicky a dangerous glare,

"What? Are you trying to hide something? You wouldn't mind if I take a look at it right?" Vicky said extending her arms to take off Summer's hoodie.

"You touch my hoodie, you die." Summer said backing away.

"Yeah, right. And whose gonna have me killed? You? You're obviously kidding. But since you really don't want me to see your warts, I might as well leave you to avoid getting infected."

Summer got so mad that she didn't notice when her hoodie fell and when she finally noticed, she couldn't care less.

"Oh my God!! What happened to your forehead? This will get so many views on the school forum." Vicky said as she laughed and took pictures.

Summer was boiling mad and refracted the rays of the sun to Vicky's phone which reflected into Vicky's eyes.

"Arghh! My eyes." Vickey yelled.

"FYI I can control light so be careful or you might as well go blind. Next time, don't mess with me, okay? Bye." Summer said feeling a little insecure,

"And where do you think you're going?" Vicky said as she made the ground before Summer fall.

"In case you don't know, I control the earth, so watch your steps." Vicky said

The heat of the sun plus Summer's body energy was enough to turn the sun rays into fire. Summer blasted fire balls at Vicky and Vicky was making the ground around Summer fall. Summer was able to somehow avoid Vicky's attacks by making plants around her big enough to lift herself off the ground. Summer blasted an enormous fireball at Vicky. She dodged it but she still fell to the ground.

Thinking that she had ended the fight between herself and Vicky, Summer let her guard down and got down from the trees. Then Vicky made the ground before Summer fall. Summer avoided it but she lost balance in the process and fell. She tried to get up but she couldn't.

"Know your place Summer Hathaway. Don't mess with me 'cause you'll regret it." Vickey said as she stood and walked away.

"Oh no! I think I've injured myself." Summer said in despair.

She tried to get up but fell back to ground. Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice.

"Need any help?" the voice said.

She looked up and it was Avan's.

"Avan? What are you doing here?" Summer asked.

"Do you need help or not? I've got other things to do." He said.

Summer extended her arms and he helped her up. Then he bent over on his knees.

"Get on my back." he said?

"What? No way! I can't possibly ge"

"Do you want to get home on time or not?" Avan asked interrupting Summer's statement.

Summer then got on Avan's back. He carried her back home with no complaints. The atmosphere between them was rather silent till they got home. Summer opened the door and he helped her to her room and laid her down on her bed.

"Where's the first aid box." he asked.

"In the living room third cabinet to your left" Summer replied.

He got the first aid box and treated Summer's wound. He later saw that Summer had developed a slight fever. So he applied a cold compress on her forehead. Then made a move for the living room.

"No. Don't go, Please stay." Summer said holding him back by his arm.

So he sat down beside Summer's bed and looked after her as she fell asleep,

"Stupid girl. Why can't you ever be careful?" Avan said as he stroke her hair.

He watched her all night till her aunt came back home from the meeting. She was surprised to see a guy in her niece's room and was shocked when she learned that Summer was sick.

"Thank you so much for looking after my niece." Melina said

"There's no need to thank me. I did what I had to do. I'll see myself out then." Avan said as he took his stuff and left.

Melina sat beside Summer's bed having pity for the poor princess.

"I knew things weren't going to get any easier for her. That's why I've always told her to toughen up. Such a poor girl, she has no idea what surprises the future has in store for her.
