Young Summer

Years passed and Summer grew into a beautiful young lady. She is now a fifteen year old girl with midnight blue eyes which goes perfectly with her blonde hair. She's also tall and fair skinned. She lived in Nether City, the capital of the Netherlands with her aunt Melina. They lived close to an ice rink where people go to skate. Summer loved skating. Whenever she was skating, she felt on top of the world as if she and the ice were one and the same. When she was five, Melina gave her the enchanted crystal pendant as a gift from her parents. She was told her parents got into an accident while on a sailing trip and never returned. Summer wore it everytime, everywhere because she thought it was so pretty and had no idea about the great power possessed by what she was wearing.

Throughout the past years of Summer's tender life, she had two friends, Kylie and Renay, who have always been with her through thick and thin. The trio school at Nether Academy. A school for the talented. Everyone in the Netherlands had their own special powers as long as it has to do with plants. Some people had rare powers and some had powers similar to that of others. Renay could make any kind of plant grow and into any size. She could also grow trees out of nowhere. Kylie was able to control water and the wind. She could manipulate these two elements of nature in any way possible. And as for Summer, you'd probably think she'd be left out and miss in on all the fun with no plant powers since she never had any in the first place. But that's not the case my dear readers.

When Summer was four years old Melina knew Summer as well as herself would need some plant powers to fit in perfectly in the Netherlands. So Melina took Summer to an old wizard known as wizard Gandalf the third who lived on the outskirts of Nether city. He gave plant powers to any Netherlander who was born without powers. When Melina got to the wizard's abode, she said "Greetings wizard Gandalf the third. The wisest and bravest of all wizards. I have come to your humble abode to ask of powers for me and my daughter here. I was born without powers and my parents didn't care to bring me to you. Now my plight has affected my dearest daughter. She too has no powers. So I ask that you may please bestow some powers upon us." "I have heard you my child. Take this and drink at night on a full moon. But before you drink it, recite these words 'spirits of the plants, visit us. Power of the plants, be bestowed upon us. So that we too may serve the Netherlands well with the gifts you have bestowed on us. Hear me, hear me, spirits of the plants, hear me." the wizard said as he mixed some potions and gave them to Melina. Melina left and on a full moon, she did exactly as the wizard had said. A few days later, their powers began to manifest. Melina's power was pretty scary. She could bring forth any plant that was poisonous or dangerous. Aside from that, she was given the power to fertilize the soil. So that, any soil she touched would be fertile and bloom flowers but she couldn't activate it whenever she wanted.

As for Summer, she had the power to control light. She could also make flowers bloom and make plants change their color and the same went for any organic substance she touches and wishes to change its color. Though Melina and Summer had new powers, they still possessed their ice powers.

Summer was in the 10th grade and the school year hadn't properly begun but she already made herself a new enemy. She now counts on her best friends Renay and Kylie to help her with the situation.
