This is set three years after my previous one. June is now 8.

June's POV

I was the first day of fourth grade and I really didn't want to go. There was a new kid coming to my school, which should be exciting, except, I knew this kid. And she is not very nice. She's the daughter of the kid that bullied my dad in high school. Flash, I think his name was. We met at the park when we were six. She pushed my over and kicked mulch in my face. Needless to say, it wasn't a very good start.  I believe her name was Maddie, not quite sure. I think I have a pretty good reason for not wanting to go to school. Unfortunately for me, my dad still made me go.

"But Daaaaad! You know who the new kid is!"

"Look sweetie, if she lays a finger on you, tell me and we can go... teach her a lesson," dad said.

"Oh! Can I help!" mom chirped in.

"Hmmm, I'll think about it," my dad said, scratching his chin.

My dad pushed me out the door towards the school bus.

"I'm sure you'll be fine," my dad said with a smile.

I sighed. "If you say so," I replied.

I sat down alone and looked out the window. I felt sick to my stomach when I realized who was sitting across from me.

"Hey puny Junie! Long time no see!" Maddie said with a snarl.

"Leave me alone Maddie," I replied.

"Awwww, is puny Junie getting upset," She said and stuck her lip out mockingly.

"I said, leave. me. alone," I demanded.

I was getting angrier by the second. Oh how I hated that kid. The way she mocked me and put me down. She was supposed to be the new kid for goodness sake! Sometimes I just wanted to smack some sense into that kid. She was so frustrating. Trying to reason with that girl is like trying to smell the color nine.

"Little Junie seems awfully sensitive today, either that or she's just a rude little twit!" yelled Maddie.

She was trying to get on my nerves. But I wouldn't let it happen. Not today. I wouldn't let her get to me. I wouldn't let her get a reaction. Despite my rational thinking, I ended up smacking her. Not the smartest move, but it did the job. I sat back down, satisfied.

"What was that for?! Are you crazy?!"

"Little Maddie seems awfully sensitive today," I mocked.

Maddie turned away in frustration as I smiled to myself. I wasn't going to have to put up with her after all.

Thank you so so sooooo much for reading! I'm very sorry for the incredibly long wait. You know how school can be. More chapters hopefully coming out soon.
