"Dad?"

First Person

Today was my first day working on my dad's shift. He just took the job from Takeda-sensei and was coaching Karasuno high's boy's volleyball club. Just like my Grandpa did. I have heard story's about the team but since he retired I didn't hear anymore stories. But now my dad is coaching the team.

I looked at the clock and realized I had only been there for 30 minutes, business was slow after everyone went home after school. I spotted my dads wallet sitting on the shelf beside me. I picked it up and opened it. Inside was a picture of Him and I. My mom was never in the picture, yes she is alive, she just works overseas. I see her every Christmas and one week during the summer. I do love my mom I just wish she came around more often. I closed the wallet and got up. I wiggled my way out from behind the counter and flipped the open sign to closed. I pushed open the door and walked out of the convince store. Then I started my route to my High school, Karasuno, I was a 2nd year there.

I walked into the school grounds and over towards the gym, dad had told me wat gym the team practices is, yet I had forgotten. I walked by the first gym and heard nothing inside, so I continued my way to the second gym where I heard sneakers squeak across the gym floor, balls hitting the ground, and yelling. I peeped my head in and saw a team of twelve boys practicing. I walked into the doorway so that my whole body could be seen and said
"Dad?" Loud enough to draw the boys' attention to me. I heard whispers from a talk blonde and blackish, greenish hair. And then I heard
"OH MY ASAHI!" From a boy my height with a buzzcut
"Im, not Jesus- seriously Tanaka this is annoying." A tall guy with a man bun said looking annoyed with the guy with a buzzcut.
"OH BABY! ANOTHER ONE!" I heard a short boy say as he high fived the guy with a buzzcut
"Coach who is this?" Another guy with dark hair asked standing next to a guy with gray hair
"Don't worry about it!" My dad said walking over to me
"What are you doing here sweetie?" He asked when he reached me
"You left your wallet at the store." I said handing him his wallet
"What would I do without you?" He asks smiling
"Loose your wallet apparently." I laugh
"Ok, ok sweetie head back to the store ok?" He laughs too
"Ok dad." I say nodding and making my way back to the store

"Coach who was that?" A short boy with a blonde streak asked, once the mystery
girl left
"None of your concern who that was, I say you boys get back to practice." The boys focus their attention on their practice.
"Dude she was cute." The buzzcut boy says to the shorter one
"Oh hell ya, she really was."
"NOYA! TANAKA!" The two boys look over at their captain
"STOP FANTASIZING OVER THE GIRL, AND FOCUS!" He yells at the boys who immediately start to focus
"Kageyama-kun did you see that girl?" A Short orange haired boy asks.
"No, I was too focused on practice." A tall Raven Haired boy says setting the ball
"Then how did you know she even came?" The orange one asks again after landing from a spike
"B-BECAUSE- BOKE HINATA BOKE! FOCUS ON YOUR PRACTICE!" The taller one says flushing red
"Fine." The little one says grabbing another ball
"That's right boys! Keep up the good practice!" Coach tells the team
