16. Part 1 Why am I suffering?

The pair was finally at the park. Jeongguk had unloaded one bike from the car and ready to ride them out. "Don't forget to wear your helmets, Tae."

Taehyung groaned, "Do I have to, doctor? I've faced moments f-far more dangerous than riding w-without a helmet, and I've n-never been seriously h-hurt."

Jeongguk frowned, "I understand.. But that's not going to stop me from treating you like a baby-"

"I- I'm not a b-baby!!" Taehyung said huffily making the other sigh.

"Tae, it's not babyish to wear a helmet when you ride a bike or roller skates. Your safety is still very important to me, is that clear?" Jeongguk asked sternly.

When he sounded like that, Taehyung knew better than to argue further. "Okay, doctor Ggukie..." He reluctantly replies.

Soon afterwards, they both were ready, complete with their helmets on their heads when suddenly Taehyung felt very nervous and noticed by Jeongguk, "Tae, what's wrong? Are you scared?"

"It's n-nothing. Shall we start?" Taehyung retorted quickly and getting ready sitting on the bike at the front.

Before Jeongguk could do so by the back seat, his phone ringing. He check and it's Ji Yeon. He needs to answer the calls so he told Taehyung to wait for him and he walk off further away from Taehyung.

When Jeongguk turns his back, he quickly accepts the call and a wide smile instantly form on his lips. That, hurts Taehyung on the inside.

He’s not going to let jealousy take over as he stood there focusing on the male movement and he's unable to look away when he saw the sweetest bunny smile on the doctors face.

Taehyung started the pedals, he went slow at first but unsatisfied so he pedal fast enough,  going a good amount of speed.

However, much to his surprise and dismay, he began to lose balance and finally fell, taking him along with it.

His head was the first thing to hit the ground before the bike fell on him. "Ouch!" Taehyung cried a little.

Ignoring and denying the fact that he's not afraid of getting hurt, he got up to try and ride his bike again, it didn't last very long before he fell down for the second time.

So he tried again. But he fell for the third time. Fourth and fifth time. After several more attempts, he ultimately failed at staying up and he just sat on the ground.

"When I'm a human, I can't ride bikes. Even now I still failed to cycle . Why am I so useless!" He spoke out loud, expressing his deep disappointment. Maybe I can still do it, he thought.

He climbed on his bike and briefly struggled to keep it up straight. Don't let me fall! Don't let me fall! Don't let me fall! Taehyung screamed inside his mind.

For a moment, it seemed like he was doing fine. But as luck would have it, ten seconds later, his bike stumbled upon a pebble rock causing him to lose control.

Taehyung screamed out while he was falling, then finally crashed into a nearby bush. He had a lot of leaves stuck to his hair and clothes. Scratches on his arm, knees and left cheeks.

Seeing himself in such a state was so funny, he  tried to laughs, but immediately tears started to fall first.

He didn't like not being able to move, he didn't like being vulnerable. He tried desperately to stand up but the moment he stand he fall back down again as he let out a cry of agony as pain shot through his left ankle like a knife.

He could feel every millimeter of movement as his dislocated bone shifted. It hurt so badly and felt so wrong that he suddenly felt nauseous. Panic welled up within him. He was hurt, and Jeongguk still on the phone with his lover.

"Yoongi h-hyung, h-help me, please-" His voice cracked as he let out a sob. He was so, so scared.

He should have just stayed home, but now he was left alone, then a flash of Jeongguk's smile while on the phone, shining bright reminded him, it aches his heart more.

"God, why d-did you make me s-suffer like this? I've had e-enough of pain.. please h-have mercy on me, please..."

Taehyung does not fear of dying, knowing he'll not live a full life, as pain and dread will cut through like a knife. Still, he's determined to live each day with joy while here on this earth; to make each day count, with compassion and mirth. ~
