A blonde and a brunette sat opposite each other in the kitchen with Rory's tapping of the keyboard as the only background noise. Ellouise flipped over the page of The Bell Jar, finishing chapter seven. "Why did you give me a book that reminds me of my mother?" she frowned at the girl staring at her work.

"It wasn't my choice to name her Esther," Rory defended without looking up.

Ellouise always missed her parents, but whenever they came home, it made her want to rip her hair out. It was a constant hell loop of longing and hating the pair that made Ellouise wish she wasn't a Wilkins.

"Rory? Ellie?" they heard Lorelai burst through the front door.

"Kitchen," Ellouise smiled even though nobody was looking.

"Nowhere in Stars Hollow or it's surrounding counties can you get a decent cup of coffee. It's like a big stupid coffee conspiracy," Lorelai ranted with an outraged tone as she poured the coffee ground into the filter quickly, spilling it all over the counter.

"Wow, the Illuminati is trying to stop you from drinking coffee. That's a sad, sad intention," Elllouise sighed and shook her head as she watched Lorelai glared at the coffee.

"Why don't you just pour the water right into the bag?" Rory questioned, looking up at her desperate mother.

"Oh, you jest, but believe me, the thought has crossed my mind. It's looking better and better all the time," she replied, finally taking a breath while the coffee dripped down. Rory got up and wandered into her room to grab some papers while Lorelai crossed her arms. "Where are you going? I'm not through complaining."

"I just have to grab some notes I need," the young Gilmore called out from the middle of her room as she flicked through her papers.

Her mother looked at the paper that Rory had been writing on and inspected it out of curiosity. "Hmm, what's this?" she questioned.

"What?" Rory joined the other two in the kitchen and looked between the paper and her mother.

"What's this you're working on?" Lorelai asked again.

"That's her interview with Max," Ellouise sighed as she put her feet up on one of the empty chairs and stretched out her arms with a yawn.

"What interview with max?" A line formed between Lorelai's eyebrows as she frowned at her daughter.

"The paper wanted to do a piece on the student's favorite teacher from the previous year and when she caught wind of the fact that..."

"Wow, nice kid that Paris," Lorelai interrupted before Rory could put it into words.

Mr. Medina and Lorelai were engaged before Lorelai made the quick decision to call it off and take a road trip to Harvard instead.

"Yeah, it wasn't bad though," Rory shrugged as she sat back down in her seat, trying to find the same spot she sat in before to keep the comfort.

"No?" Ellouise furrowed her eyebrows in shock considering Rory had been avoiding him for days.

"No. It was good actually. It gave us a chance to talk about some things," Rory smiled.

"Well good," Lorelai nodded and placed the notebook back onto the wooden table.

"Well, I'm gonna buy a folder for it before the store closes," Rory expressed as she walked through the house and out the door.

"Hey, did you know Luke pushed Jess in the lake?" the only Gilmore left chuckled as she took a sip of her freshly brewed coffee.

Ellouise smirked as Lorelai moved the blonde's legs off the chair and sat in their place. "Yeah, I saw."
