Once after Scarlet had got dressed in regular clothes, she and Butch walked to the van. "I'm driving this time." She opens the driver's door and slids in. He slids into the passanger seat before closing the door. The van came to life as Scarlet turned the ignition. She drove the van out of her neighborhood and headed for outskirts of the city.
"So you said this house looked as if a cabin?" Butch asks.
      "Yes."
"Then we must head for the forest," implying he says.
As Scarlet drove the van along heading to the forest area of Miami, it was silent for a moment.
"Everybody keeps bugging you to ask me out," she finally speaks up with a smile.
"Yeah," smiling with embarrassment Butch answers. "Jeff was the first one to ask me, and then George."
"Garth asked me as well when you were on the phone," Scarlet confides.
"Doesn't surprise me," shaking his head he admits. "When we went to him for our last case, he asked me too if I had finally asked you out."
"You don't need to worry," still smiling she assures. "I am waiting for you like I promised."
"I know," Butch responds. "And I had enough time to grieve over Syrina."
"I will still wait for you," with reassurance Scarlet responds. "Though if you do not mind me asking...why are you waiting all this time if you have grieved long enough?"
"I am not sure how Syrina will feel," he began to explain, "knowing I have moved on with another woman?"
Butch looked down as if feeling ashamed.
"I understand how you feel," with understanding she confides.
He looks at her with eyes that shone with intress to hear her story.
"After Nicolas was killed I didn't think I could move on," Scarlet continues explaining. "Then again, I was also too focused on revenge for what happened to him. It wasn't until after that night we stayed at the dorm together, I got that loneliness feeling."
So I wasn't the only one, Butch told himself as he listened.
"After I left the station, I wandered through Miami."
She explained how she saw Hope at the beach flirting with a man and couldn't help but remember that was how she first met Nicolas.
Then, Scarlet went on of explaining how she left the beach and wandered to the hotel. She had seen a random couple happy and kissing. Scarlet explained how the loneliness was still gnawing at her so she went to the forest. There Scarlet was at ease and felt peaceful.
"What did you do then?" he queries with curiosity.
"I stood on a cliff overlooking the forest," in answer she replies. "I then suddenly heard my mother's voice. She told me how much she loved me and that she was watching over me."
"That was real sweet of your mother," Butch comments with a half-smile.
"Then I heard Nicolas's voice," continues Scarlet which she got his attention. "He assured me that he loved me and by loving me he wanted me to move on and love someone else..." She glances at her partner. "You want to know who came to my mind after?" Scarlet asks with a smile.
"Me," with a smile he guesses answering.
      "Yes."
"I promise I will ask you out, Scarlet," Butch assures. "I am just waiting for a sign from Syrina, letting me know that she is okay with my decision."
"I understand," with reassurance she says. "Though, I am certain she would want you to be happy and move on. The only reason why my father hasn't moved on is because he does not want to put anybody else in danger."
"With your father being a werewolf in all," he replies while smiling, "I can understand that. The werewolf pack is still out there."
Even though Scarlet had killed her great grandfather who was the Alpha, the rest of his pack was out there. Thankfully, because they no longer had an Alpha and the Beta had been taken to the facility, the rest of the pack was lost. Eventually though the pack would find a new Alpha.
"Plus, he is a pretty dedicated man to my mother," with a smile she continues. "He loved her very much."
Just then, the van entered into the forest. Scarlet and Butch looked around as they tried finding the cabin-like house. So far all they were seeing was tress.
"Maybe this cabin-like house is deep within the forest?" he implies.
"Are you suggesting we park the van," smiling she begun asking, "and search for it on foot?"
"Yes, that is exactly what I am implying," Butch confirms smiling too.
The van pulled up onto a dirt road that led into the forest.
"Good," half-flirting Scarlet responds. "Because I love the call of the wild." She opens the door and hops out.
"That's not surprising," he comments as he hops out. "You are a wolf after all. I bet the wild calls you now-and-then."
Butch walks around the van and over to where Scarlet was. She looks at him with a grin of a smile.
      "Oh, yeah," responds Scarlet.
She locks the van up before they enter into the forest. Even though they were out in the middle of no where, that didn't mean they still had to be cautious. You never know if anybody possibly passing by might rob or steal the van.
"In fact," Scarlet continues, "do you not mind if I transform into a wolf now?"
"No, not at all," replying he assures. "Go right ahead. In fact, your wolf sense of smell will probably help us better with finding this place."
She smiles at the idea of letting free her werewolf side. Scarlet transformed which thankfully she didn't have to worry about others seeing her. She smiles at Butch who was smiling at her as well.
"You know," he comments, "you are sexy...both as a fine young lady and a werewolf."
Scarlet smiles a wider grin at Butch. "Thanks. Now let me see if I can smell anything?" She began to sniff the air her nostils flaring. "I'm picking up on something. It smells like a farm almost?"
