Chapter 12: The Hospital Fight!

Noah turned around as he stared at them with blank white eyes. Butch held out the knife at him. Scarlet held out her pistol in front of the zombie coroner. Freddie was kawing with fear to see Noah a zombie.
      "That is not Jerry, Butch," she says with concern. "That is Frank's assistant!"
      "I know it is," assuring he says.
      "Then why aren't you doing anything?" Scarlet asks confused.
      "I really don't want to hurt him," confides Butch. "He is part of the police department."
      With the skinwalker case, his former mentor, Matthew had been turned into a cheetah. Butch was skeptic then to to injury him. That showed he was a true loyal man not to harm an innocent man.
      "Well, is he friendly?" she queries.
      "I'm not sure?" admits Butch. "Hey there," he speaks friendly but still nervous. "Were you attacked by Jerry?"
      Noah did nothing which was a good sign.
      "I'm sure he didn't mean to attack you," assures Butch.
      He suddenly began to move towards them after getting on his hands and feet! They turned around running out of the room. Freddie followed flapping his wings wildly as he gained speed to keep up.
      "I don't think that was smart of you meantioning how he became a zombie, Butch?!"
      "I'm sorry," he shouts while apologizing. "I didn't realize that would trigger him!"
      They reemerge back into the lobby which they stopped for a moment to take a breath.
      "Is he following?" asks Butch as they look at the closed door leading to the back.
      Right as Scarlet turned around, she startled back, with wide terrified eyes. He turns around too to see what his partner was scared about. There, was Jerry crouched, which he did not look friendly at all!
      "Run!" Butch shouts.
      They run around him who attempted to snatch her. He swung a hand but it didn't reach Scarlet in time. Jerry slowly turned around and began to follow them. He had amazing incredible speed while behind on his hands and feet!
      She glanced back to see Jerry. "He's following us!" with fear Scarlet exclaims.
      Freddie kawed and chirped as he helped guide them along in the hospital. There had to have been somewhere safe?
      "Once again," she comments, "why didn't I think of grabbing my bat?! We could have wrapped barb wire around it after purchasing it at the store?"
      "Please stop bringing back the memories?" politely he says as they ran.
      As Jerry came close to lunging at them, he was barreled aside! Scarlet and Butch momentarily halted as they half-turned around. They saw it was Noah who striked at him. He tussled with Jerry trying to stop him from attacking them.
      "He's not fully-turned either," she acknowledges. "Noah is only half-zombie!"
      "I think he is trying to help distract Jerry," puts in Butch, "while we try finding a place to hide."
      Something came into Scarlet's mind. "What if that is why Susie and the others are no where in the hospital?" she attempts to explain. "What if Noah took her and the others somewhere he knew Jerry could not find them?"
      "He could have taken them to..."
      "The basement!" both reply at the same time.
      "Butch! Go to the basement and get everyone to safety," instructs Scarlet.
      "What will you do?" he asks with concern.
      "I'm going to help him with buying you some time," explaining she answers. "Freddie? Go with Butch and help your mother."
      "Ke-eeeee-arr!" he agrees with her.
      "I'll be fine, Butch," assures Scarlet. "Go! Hurry!"
      She turned to the tussling zombies which she began to transform.
      "Stttoooppp!" Noah moans half-groans. "Thhheeeiiirrr offffiiicceers!"
      A mutated human animal looking foot stomped on the floor! This caused Noah and Jerry to stop and look at who stood before them. Scarlet growled with a snarl and narrowed her eyes as she loomed over them.
      She then swung a forepaw at Jerry who went tumbling sideways. Noah does his best to smile. It was difficult though with his dangling jaw.
      "I understand now," with a smile as well Scarlet replies. "Thank you. Let's buy Butch some time by working together?"
      Jerry got onto his hands and feet. He went to attack but he was outnumbered by the werewolf! She swung and slashed her hands at him, while Noah tried tackling him.
      Jerry made a gurgling sound oppose of speaking. Scarlet realized this and noted it in her head for later. Fully-turned zombies make a gurgling sound. Half-zombies can speak somewhat while making the gurgling sound as well. She knocked aside Jerry which he went tumbling sideways again.
      Right as he was about to get onto his hands and feet, he was attacked by Noah. He tussled with Jerry for a little while. He then knocked Noah aside. He went tumbling into a cart which tipped over.
      After seeing a comrade down, Scarlet then striked at Jerry. She growled while slamming her body into him. Once he was knocked down once again, Scarlet tackled Jerry to the floor. She bit him who seemed to not be in pain.
      Yup, he's a fully-turned zombie, Scarlet tells herself.
      She then lets go of her grip with her teeth and spats. "Yuck! Now I know exactly how Duke felt." Scarlet saw that she had given Jerry some bite marks. The bite marks however did not ooze blood.
      Recovering from the fall, Noah got back on his feet. He went back to striking at the zombie guard. Jerry was gained on by two individuals.
      First, Noah, the coroner's assistant he had biten and turned into a zombie. Then there was a werewolf who, worked undercover at the police station, as a department called P.S.I.
      This was not what Jerry thought he'd be doing today. All he wanted was a delicious meal!
