779 DAYS EARLIER

𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐒𝐊𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐎𝐍𝐒 they kept hidden away in a closet. With cobwebs and spiders crawling over the bones heavy with secrets, no one wanted to take those skeletons and dust them off for the whole world to see. In other words, those skeletons were the very words people took to their graves.

For Eijun Sawamura and Kazuya Miyuki, their skeletons were each other.

Not a single soul knew about their hidden relationship and they wanted to keep it that way. At least, they had agreed to keep that particular skeleton from seeing the light of day. But Kazuya had begun to gradually drag it from the closet's confinement.

"I want to take you somewhere," he said abruptly, his chin on top of Eijun's head with his eyes trained on the television screen.

Eijun swiveled around in Kazuya's arms, looking at him with a raised eyebrow. Kazuya glanced at him before returning his stare to the screen when a blush crept up his neck.

"Don't give me that look," he grumbled. Turning away, Kazuya hid his face from Eijun's curious eyes. "You heard what I said..."

"No, I didn't~" Eijun practically sang in mischief. The blush in Kazuya's cheeks instantly vanished and a vein popped out on his forehead. Whirling around, Kazuya squished Eijun's cheeks together, earning a squeal of happiness and surprise from the pitcher.

He fell on his back in an attempt to get away from Kazuya, but Kazuya fell next to him in a fit of laughter. Rolling onto his side, Eijun stared at Kazuya with big eyes, a wide smile on his face. Kazuya ruffled his hair, chuckling as he sat up.

"What do you say?" Kazuya looked over his shoulder at Eijun, grinning. "It is Valentine's Day after all."

"Well, yeah." Hoisting himself up, Eijun crossed his legs, holding his ankles. "But you've never been one to celebrate holidays. And especially not Valentine's Day." Kazuya's eye twitched. Eijun struggled not to laugh, hiding his puffed-out cheeks behind his hands. "It's true."

"Eijun, whatever you do, don't move."

Eijun stopped, quirking an eyebrow. "Why?"

Kazuya's eyes glinted evilly. "Because I'm gonna kick your ass."

Squeaking, Eijun went to crawl away when Kazuya wrapped his arms around Eijun's waist, pulling him back. It was moments like these that Kazuya wanted to keep just between them, but then, when they walked out into the world, there was always a distance that divided them.
