this takes place before you were revealed as his sidekick.
you had just finished your nightly patrol, walking around the city as a normal civilian and inspecting it for any trouble- by yourself. sighing, you pulled out your phone and walked to your apartment to retire for the night. before you could, your phone dinged.
bird man: sleepover?
you rolled your eyes and hid a small smile. texting back a quick 'yes,' you took off into the direction of hawks' home. letting yourself in, you slammed the door behind you and screamed, "i'm home!" there was no reply. "hawks?" you called again, receiving no answer again. "hawks, i swear to god if you're bamboozling me, i'm going to murder you." you stomped to the room you knew was his bedroom, only to be greeted with a mess of pillows and blankets everywhere.
"y/n!" he said, poking his head out from under a pillow. "you're here early, i wasn't done yet."
"hawks, what the hell are you doing?" you laughed at the fully grown adult that was buried under a pile of pillows.
"it's a nest, i felt the need to make one and i did, and so i invited my favorite buddy over."
you giggled. "bird man feeling tendencies again? last time i caught you tilting your head. and then i caught you walking past a mirror and getting confused."
"it's not my fault kid, even though my quirk has nothing to do with hawks or birds i still want to have some fun:( so won't you come and help me make it look better? i feel like it's missing something."
"it's made of pillows and blankets, hawks. it's missing sticks, mud, grass, and everything else-"
he rolled his eyes. "it was a pick-up line, sweetheart. it's missing you."
