bitch don't kill my vibe ; kendrick lamar
a few months ago...
"katsuki?" she was even more dumbstruck to see him here than midoriya for some odd reason. the sound of the boys name being called caused him to stop his eyes over in her direction. he looked confused for a moment. like he saw something he couldn't quite explain.
"what the hell are you doing here?" he looked angry, slightly disgusted, but overall, confused. "same thing you are, i guess." she shrugged. he didn't say anything more, and just looked down at his desk, which caused y/n to draw her eyebrows together in slight hurt. damn, no hello? she thought to herself.
she turned back to midoriya, who was still frozen in place. only now his scared eyes were trained on the only remaining unoccupied desk in the room, aside from the teachers. the one in front of bakugou. he pried his eyes off of the desk and looked at y/n, shaking as he did so. "please?" his voice came out in a squeaky whisper, bug nonetheless she understood what he was asking.
she reluctantly looked from her desk, which was comfortably in the back, back to the boy who stared at her with pleading eyes. she huffed, pouting slightly. she closed her eyes for a second before opening them halfway, in an exhausted sort of reluctancy. she returned to the desk that was now midoriyas and grabbed her backpack that she had dumped onto it, and sling it over one of her shoulders. "only because i'm nice." she looked at him intensely. he nodded furiously, profusely thanking her as he quickly walked to his new seat, away from the ash blond devil.
the thud of her book bag landing on the ground seemed to snap bakugou out of whatever thoughts he was having, as he looked in front of him to see that h/c girl he thought he'd never see again. she wasn't looking directly at him, but rather carefully watching his movements through pheripheral vision as she grabbed a notebook from her bag.
"are you going to just stare at me or are you going to say something?" she finally turned to face him. "i'm not fucking staring at you." and sure enough, he had averted his eyes to just past the girl, to look at the blank board. "are you mad?" she asked him, slightly annoyed at this point. "tch. i'm never mad!" he snapped, earning a few questioning looks from classmates. "i'm not mad." he spoke quieter this time, as the stares left him. "why the hell would i be mad."
"because i left, pretty much out of nowhere." she was less annoyed now, and more apologetic. "why the hell would i care? i wouldn't give a damn if you fucking never came back. now leave me the hell alone." his words hurt more than she thought they would. she had expected something like this. some sort of cruel comment when she saw him again, but for some reason, it still took her by surprise.
her eyes fell to the small space between where her chair ended and his desk began as she nodded lightly. her expression didn't hold the pang her heart felt, her expression didn't hold anything. she turned back to face the front of the classroom, resting her chin on her palm, as she let her mind drift to nothing in particular.
