when we walked into the compound it was full of people doing work and running around. what could all these people be doing? paper work? building bomb? fuck if i know. a lady ran up to Tony and reminded him about a meeting the next morning. she almost ran over me in her hurry. no one noticed that i was there. i like when people don't notice me, makes it easier to sneak around and do stuff. and i'm pretty unnoticeable. just an average teenage girl. but with everything that's happening i'm hoping i'll just stay a teenage girl.
"alright in the elevator there, top floor." tony told me while he was in his phone "here's my pass to get to the top floor." he told me and handed me his name pass. ANTOHY STARK AKA IRON MAN it read across the bottom with a picture of tony in the centre.
"wait your not coming with me?" i asked him as he started to walk away.
"nope i've got to check on something at stark industry, i'll meet up with you later but remember top floor!" he yelled as he ran out of sight. great! i'm in the middle of avengers compound with an all access pass and i don't know anyone! fantastic! i shook my head as i made my way over to the elevator
the elevator opened up and i along with 5 other people all go into it. each person pressed what floor they wanted to go to. i was still trying to figure out how to use the pass. while i was trying to do so i could see that i was getting weird stares from the others in the elevator. i ignored them and focused on trying to access the top floor. i saw that above all of the other buttons in the elevator there was a slit with the avengers logo next to it. worth a shot i though and i put tony's name tag in the slot and the avengers A lit up. perfect, i mean i'm assuming that's the right thing to do. the other people looked confused and concerned. by now 3 of the 5 people had got off.
"excuse me" one of the men said, "but how did you get that pass?" he was glaring at me like i was some kind of criminal.
"got it from a family member." i responded yeah cause a 16 year old is gonna try and break into the avengers tower in broad day light.
"mhmm i see" the man said but he was still giving me weird glances. the other man was leaning in the corner of the elevator. he hadn't said anything.
"might i ask your name?" the man asked
"y/n" i responded my voice right. i didn't want to act suspicious cause i wasn't doing anything wrong, he just made me very uncomfortable. "might i ask yours?" well if he knows mine i might as well know his.
"Charles Ridgway and that is Max Hasen. it's very nice to meet you" he stuck out his hand. i didn't want to take it but i didn't want to seem weird.
"nice to meet you." i said back while shaking his hand. it was cold but sweaty. above us the elevator lights began to flicker. then the one in the corner over Max went out. Ridgway gave me a weird smile.
"well this is our stop. your only a floor above us haha go figure." he chuckled while still maintains eye contact with me.
"yeah haha." i forced a laugh. then he turned around and left the elevator. the mans in the corner followed behind him and when he passes me he smirked at me. the elevator doors closed behind them and i was alone. i've been around a lot of creepy men but i think they take the cake. what the fuck are they up too. and why the fuck did the light go out?
