It's Upon Us

Chapter 24

I stared at Michael with shock by his choice of words that even the others were left in shock.
"When did you grow an attitude.?" I asked with a grin. He gave me a glare, "I'm being serious. She's Not gonna marr-.." "They were joking around!! We've had these kinds of conversations throughout the past 2 days. & You have No right! To decide who I'll marry Michael!!" Kitten said angrily.

She shoved past him & disappeared around the corner with her footsteps ascending followed by the sound of a bedroom door slamming closed. We were left in a heavy atmosphere that seemed to suffocating us & Michael who was staring at the hall.
"She's Right. You shouldn't say such things like that Michael. She has the right to choose what she wishes or wants to do or have. I suggest you go apologize for this.. & for what you did earlier as well." I said coldly.

He grew tense before walking out of the diner to which I sighed & turned to the others who looked down.
"Hey." I said with a huff. They turned to look at me, "Kitten did Not make this food for nothing ya know." I said with a glare. "Shit!! Dibs on getting first!!" Liam said as he reached for the knife & spatchel.

Dante however snatched it first with a light chuckle, "No way. You can have the cold part of it." He said as he swiftly cut the lasanga up.
'Kitten has something unique in her that makes you see the good in everything.. She makes you smile even when you don't want too or feel like it. Even if there's nothing funny being said all it takes is her smile for it to do just that. & Dante is living proof of Kitten's influence on us all..'

I hesitated over whether I should knock or just leave her be but.. I knew I was out of line & needed to apologize for it.
I knocked 3 times but there was no answer so I tried again yet I didn't receive a response. 'I shouldn't walk in if I'm uninvited but I really need & want to apologize.' I slowly opened the door & peeked in to see it was empty which sent me into confusion when I spotted the open window.

Overunned with panic I quickly looked for her before rushing over to the window in search of her.
"Do you need something?" I looked up to the sound of her voice to see her peeking over from the edge of the rooftop. I sighed in relief, "I wanted to apologize fo-.." "Apology accepted." She said before I could finish & disappeared from view.

'I really did hurt her.. Didn't I?' I spread my wings once I jumped out the window & flew up only to be left in shock. She was staring up at the moon with her hair swaying but the sight of her having angelic wings designed in a black & white beauitiful unique perfect pattern left me in awe.

'He's staring at my wings.. He must be hesitating whether he should come closer or leave...' I clenched my fists tightly, "Instead of staring at me.. Why don't you leave if you're hesitating whether you should come never the daughter of an Evil Monstrous Being..." I said coldly. But I never turned to look at him out of the fear & pain I knew I'd be filled with when I saw his expression.

He flew over & sat down making sure to leave a space between us both. 'I... Thought as much..'
"It's beautiful isn't it..?" He asked after sitting in silence for a whole minute. I stayed quiet. "..My brother told me of how you stayed by my side without eating or sleeping just to watch over me... & I wanted to apologize for my actions.. I just didn't expect it when you uhm... planned to move my shirt up.." He explained nervously.

I stayed silent hoping he'd leave me alone & stop giving me stupid lies to keep me happy.
"I also wanted to apologize for what I said in the diner." He said afterwards. "Leave.." I said emotionlessly. "Katherine.. I really am sor-..."

I turned to look at me angrily, "Don't bother lying to me!!! You thought I was gonna hurt you or do something to endanger your life when I tried to move up your shirt to check if the source of the infected wound on your chest healed!!
Not to mention the reason you said I wouldn't marry anyone was because I'm the abomination of a monster.. because I'll end up giving birth to a abomination that I'll raise so you're planning to take precautions!! Aren't you?!!" I asked angrily.

I stared at her glowing eyes with a loss of words knowing I did more than just hurt her feelings.
But I was filled with pain when her eyes returned to their original color & tears began running down her cheeks. "Katherine. That's Not true. I Don't think of you as an abomination.. I hate to say this but... I became flustered after you raised my shirt & the reason I said that about Marriage.."

I looked up at the sky with a chuckle, "Was because even though I trust & know my brother.. I hardly trust his friends.. Not after I found out the one known as Zane hurt you." I turned to look at her with a broken smile, "Now that I think of it.. If I was in your place I would've been thinking exactly what you're thinking of me." I said as I looked away feeling ashamed & like a disgrace.
