It's Upon Us

Chapter 29

Once I handed Zane the plates I made my way back to the kitchen out of suspicion only to hear Katherine yelp.
I quickly rushed into the kitchen out of worry only to find Lucifer holding her by her waist while she held onto his shirt panting. "Lucifer?! What are you doing??" I asked angrily.

They both turned to look at me with shock as they pulled away nervously averting their gaze.
"Kitten was grabbing the milk from the fridge when she suddenly tripped over her own feet. I caught her so she wouldn't hurt herself but I couldn't save the milk.." He explained with a chuckle as he pointed to the spilled milk on the floor.

'He seems to be telling the truth..' "You're lucky my brother saved you Katherine." I said in relief as I walked towards her.
"Y-.. yeah. Sorry about the milk.." She said nervously. "Tigress?!" We all turned to see Liam & the others standing the entrance to the kitchen in worry. "What happened?!" Damian asked worryingly.

"Lucifer caught me from hurting myself when I tripped over my own feet." She explained with sheepish chuckle.
"Clumsy as always.." Zane said with a chuckle. "Michael. Kitten. Why Don't you head for the diner. Me & the boys will clean up here." Lucifer said as he grabbed the broom from the pantry. "Okay. We'll be waiting for you.." Katherine said with a soft smile directed at Lucifer.

'Yet.. I feel like something is being hidden from me..' "C'mon." She said as she led me out of the kitchen.
"I hope you'll like the cake." She said as she stood by the table. "I can't wait." I replied with a smile. "Kitten!" "Lucifer!!" She said with a squeal as she walked over to him. "I sent Dante to buy a gallon of milk & he should be here right abouttttttt.. now!" He said with a grin.

Dante walked into the diner with 2 gallons of milk in hand that he placed on the table before taking his seat like everyone else.
We talked for hours & I couldn't concentrate on any of the conversations since I was watching Katherine & Lucifer closely. She checked her phone with a frown when it started vibrating but that frown was replaced with a smile.

She turned to look at my brother happily when he turned to look at her.
He returned the smile & nodded before turning to look at everyone. "Guys. There's something I need to tell you all." He said as he got up with a proud grin. Katherine got up & walked over to his side where he pulled her into a hug, "Me & Katherine..." He looked down at her with a loving expression that she returned with red cheeks.

I understood right away what was happening & quickly got up. "No!" I said firmly.
They turned to look at me in confusion, "What?" She asked. "There's No way you're going to get together!! I Won't Allow It!!" I said angrily. They looked shocked, "You have No right! To tell us that!!" Lucifer said with a growl.

"You Don't Deserve her!!" I said with scowl. "Oh! & you do?!?!" She asked.
I tensed up not knowing what to say or do as I watched my brother pull her closer in a protective manner. I shook my head in anger before walking out of the diner. "Are you serious?!" "Did he just.." I sped-walked out the front door to distance myself from their whispering & flew up onto the rooftop.

The same spot my feelings had started to blosson... & the same place we almost kissed...
I sat down & stared at the moon in silence until it was broken by the sound of quiet footsteps. "Michael.." Her soft voice said from behind me.
I closed my eyes & sighed before turning to look at her only to have my heart skip a beat.

No matter how much I wanted to stop feeling these emotions it just seemed impossible to do since I was captivated by her beauty. 'You're a goddess in my eyes Katherine.. but a Goddess I'll Never reach because you belong to someone else now.....' "Why'd you lash out like that..?" She asked with a frown as she walked over. She sat down in the spot she was in last time leaving us in the exact position as before.

Which only made the memory come back to me. 'What am I supposed to say? That I'm Jealous..
That I Don't want you & my brother to be together because I love you??..' "Do you.. Feel something for me?? Is that it??" She asked softly.
I grew tense, "You do... Don't you..?" She asked again.

I closed my eyes & let out a long sigh, "....Yes..." I stated.
She suddenly broke out into a fit of giggles that made me frown & feel embarrassed.
"I guess our plan worked." She said with a grin. "Plan?" I asked in confusion.

She nodded, "Me, Lucifer, & our friends started wondering if the reason you took so long to arrive was because you didn't want to see them...
or them with me. So we came up with a plan to see if our hypothesis was true. By acting like Me & Lucifer were in love.. Because he said you seemed to be more jealous & angry when it came to me being around him the most." She explained with a mischievous smile.
