I blend in the darkness with my stealth as soon as I detected footsteps coming its way here. A guard entered the darkroom holding a lit torch illuminating the area and reveal frightened faces of the abducted children while the adults stepped away from him in their cells. Some of the Villagers noticed me as I hid behind him. I do a hand signal to let them know to not say anything and they understood.

I think Violet's parents are held captive here.

"DIDN'T I TOLD YOU TO KEEP QUIET?!" He yelled at them making the others terrified and trembled in fear.

I wonder if he is the key holder of the cells.

I examined behind him and I see loads of keys were dangling at the side of his pants.

Oh what do you know, he is the key holder! Lucky me!

"Fu**ing peasants," He says and was about to turn around but I quickly knocked him out at the back oh his head and instantly catch the lit torch and his heavy body before he falls to the ground and makes a noise.

I don't want any guards or knights to come here if I am open and exposed. Who knows how many of them are but I can take them out if I just have a weapon.

They let out a reaction of peace of being saved but I do a hand signal shushing them, they understood as I dragged the unconscious man somewhere he cannot be seen by the other guards while holding the lit torch. I slowly put him down on the ground and remove the medieval bunch of keys from the side of his pants. I quickly unlock each cell and try to ignore the horrible foul odor, they were a relief to see me, but hesitate to go outside. I reassured them that they will be freed, but my main focus is on finding Violet's parents.

What kind of knights would do this to their citizens?

I went inside of the cell and present a picture of Violet's family to the captured villagers, they gaze at it and recognized the woman but the man wasn't here with them. I asked if they could lead me to her and they happily accepted and lead me to a woman lying on the ground with her back facing me.

She has the exact appearance of Violet's mother!

I approached her but baffled to see her face with injuries like someone had struck her with a fist several times to the point she was unrecognizable, her face was swollen and had several cuts, her clothes were dirty, messy and some of the cloth have a stench of urine. I questioned what happened to her. The woman with brown hair replied, saying almost every day she was harassed by the knights. I tried to conceal my madness after hearing that but shook it off and focus on my main objective, her safety comes first along with the other captured citizens. She soon woke up and coughs in blood and asked who I was.

"Ma'am your daughter Violet is looking for you."

"My Daughter!*cough* my baby Violet where is she?"

"Don't worry ma'am she's outside waiting for you and her father" I said.

"M-my *cough* husband is in the next room *cough*," She says as she coughs more blood. I quickly took off my handkerchief and wipe the blood from her face. The villagers attended to carry Violet's Mom and other injured citizens as we exited the cell. I advised them to walk and say silently. They took my word and nod in response especially the kids.

I never thought I could be a leader in the wrong situations before.

The brown-haired woman holds the lit torch as I search for pebbles or rocks to fight off the guards or knights with, the children copied me.

That's great! they can come in handy to knock out a bunch of knights or guards.

Afterward, I search for the unconscious man's body to look for a weapon. The only thing I got was a couple of coins from him. He's useless.
