It was late when I felt Ice climbing into bed next to me and pulling meclose. He was warm and comfy and I was glad he was at least alive but he'd have a bunch of explaining to do in the morning.

Morning...

I woke up to breakfast in bed and Ice downstairs talking to Gi. They were loud as hell but I found it even sexier that he could take care of a child that one, wasn't his and two, hated new people. I got washing up and taking my food downstairs to eat with them, Ice had Gi sitting on the counter showing him how to make a waffle and Gi looked so intrigued by it.

"Morning y'all" I said leaning against the sink with my plate. Gi was too busy staring at the waffle maker to say anything and Ice turned to look at me smiling.

"Bout time you get up I bet you gotta heat your food up now" he said still smiling before turning his attention back.

"Nah it's perfect" I said rolling my eyes, knowing it was kind of cold, but I wasn't trying to prove him right of course. I walked into the living room turning on the tv and the news was the first thing that popped up.

"Drive-by Shooting early this morning at 2:00 a.m. 5 people killed, and 15 people injured! This took place at the local club called Kosmíc, witnesses say there was an all white SUV with black tints and the gun man had a mask on hanging out the window, more on this story soon!"

I almost dropped my plate when I heard that it was Cairo's club that had gotten shot up. I wasn't sure what time Ice had come in but it was a huge possibility that he had went and did what he needed to do before coming here.

"Gi thought it would be a good idea if we made yo-" Ice said coming in before pausing and staring at me.

"Mommy we made you a waffle!" Gi yelled running over to me with another plate. I hadn't even started that one and now I had another, but that wasn't the focus right now.

"You think I did that shit?" Ice said gesturing over to the screen, I'd pause it on that exact heading so that he could see that I knew.

"Did you?" I tried not to change the tone of my voice but a million other possibilities were playing in my head right now and this being a set up was at the top of the list. He still didn't know that I heard his conversation previously.

"Why you think I did it is the real question?" He asked taking a step towards me. I noticed Gi looking back and forth at the both of us before I stopped myself. He didn't need to be apart of the conversation, he didn't even need to hear it.

"We can talk later, thank y'all for making me this" I kissed Gi's cheek taking the plate from him. He just smiled running back in the kitchen.

Ice stood there for a minute before following after him, my heart was racing now. What if this was a set up? If he knew I knew then what if he just went ahead and killed me off. Somebody had followed Cairo and knew he owned that place and now it was shot up.

I slid my phone out texting him to see if he was okay, watching it for a little while. He normally didn't reply right away anyway and I don't know why I was expecting him to. This all just worried me at this point and I was just pointing Ice wasn't who or what Cairo was saying he was all along.

Ice came back out the kitchen and sat next to me staring at me. It looked like this all bothered him and I was beginning to regreg even mentioning it and insinuating that he had did anything.

"You know you can trust me right? I'm not tryin' to set you up I care about you" he said grabbing my hand and kissing it. I could hear the sincerity in his voice and wanted to believe it so badly and apart of me knew that I should.

"I'm learning to trust again Ice I'm sorry I accused you, I have no clue whats going on in Cairo's life, he's Gianni's father its my natural instinct to just be worried about him for the sake of our son" I told him sitting my plate down and grabbing his other hand.

"I can understand that but this is something I don't want you getting involved in, stay out of it, that nigga don't care if you with me or not he after me regardless"

Deep down I knew he was right, but did that mean he was the one who pulled the drive by or was he just giving my warning, I needed to know what was going on if he expected me to stay out of it.

"So does that mean you di-"

"Baby just stay out of it, all of it... please?!" He cut me off getting up. That gave me all the answers I needed to know, that he'd did the drive by. I can't say I didn't understand, he had to defend his life he couldn't just lay down and take whatever happened just because of me.

"I- okay" I said looking back at the tv aomewhat defeated. I wanted to stay with Ice but I didn't wanna get him killed, so I'd try to stay out of it the best I can.
