I've known Jisung my whole life. We were inseperable. He told me everything— from his favorite video game to when he secretly drank alcohol under his parent's surveillance.
But I guess Taesa was enough to break our bond. We used to talk or text every single day, hour, and minute of our lives. But when he met her— his "Hello" turned into "I gotta go." Instead of how he won in your favorite video game, it was about how Taesa won hers.
And slowly but surely, his everyday "I love you", "I miss you", "Let's hang out", and a simple "Hey" disappeared from existence.

I questioned if she had replaced me. Maybe she was his best friend now. But what did she have that I didn't? How was her presence able to rip 13 years of our friendship?

But then I guess I realized I wasn't meant to be apart of this story. I wasn't a necessary character in his adventures and plot.
So I never confessed. I kept it in me since the 4th grade. I always wondered if he would ever feel the same, but I guess the answer was obvious. She won his heart— and he won mine.

Crazy how it works, doesn't it? From that day Jeno walked into the classroom and sat next to her, Jisung had repeatedly warned Taesa not to befriend him. Yet weeks after, Jeno asked him about her favorite color. He told him. And weeks after that Jeno asked him how to ask a girl out. He knew it was about Taesa. And he told him anyways.

And I saw him on my doorstep, after what had seemed years, sobbing in pain. And I let him in.
Funny how people only go to the good when they really need it.
