Chapter 8: Falco's Revenge

The next morning, after a quiet night, the sun slowly rises and begins to illuminate the jungle with its rays. At the foot of the willows near the lake, Mathias and Neytiri are still asleep, side by side. Mathias has his arm around the waist of Neytiri, like to stay hang on to her. Last night, Mathias and Neytiri expressed their love and united together before Eywa, which sent the sacred seeds dancing around them, to bless them, and also to bless this sincere union between a human and a Na'vi. This had never occurred before in the history of the world. For the new couple, this night was very pleasant, and they continue to sleep peacefully together, while the sun's rays begin to illuminate the lake and willows. A ray illuminates the face of Neytiri, who wakes up first, and slowly opens her eyes by protecting her face with her hand to avoid being blinded. She turned to Mathias, who continues to sleep, and she smiled in seeing that he looks so peaceful. The young queen Na'vi touches her lips with her hand and still feels the heat of the kiss she shared with Mathias last night. She loves him with all her heart, and he also loves her. Although they are from two different species, their love is sincere.

Neytiri sits beside Mathias, at the foot of the tree of voices, and sees the nature of Pandora awakening to the new day. In the distance, she hears the cries of the first animals, and some plants open on themselves, to let the sun warm up. Then Neytiri sees two Hexapods arrive near the lake, on the opposite bank. The both creatures approach and begin to drink, regardless of the presence of Neytiri and Mathias. The young queen Na'vi smiled at the two animals that drink quietly, and she continues to observe them. Suddenly, one of the hexapod rises up quickly head and starts sniffing the air with a worried look, as if he had sensed danger nearby. He runs away, followed by the other Hexapod. Neytiri seems surprised by this change in behavior, but after years of observing the creatures of Pandora, she guessed what happens. Neytiri turns to Mathias and gently shook him at the shoulder to wake him up, and speaking softly. Mathias opens his eyes and smiled at Neytiri. He gives her a kiss on the cheek to say hello, but realizes she is worried.

(Mathias): "What happens Neytiri? You look worried."

(Neytiri): "I felt a danger. We are not alone."

Mathias looks around him but does not found nothing unusual. Apart he and Neytiri, there is no other creature, and he does not hear any strange noise. Suddenly, a branch crack is heard in the bushes around the lake. There is something that lurking around them. Mathias and Neytiri start feeling observed by several pairs of eyes. The silence that begins to reign is very heavy. Mathias trying to see something, while Neytiri is very quiet and listens to the silence, with an alert look.

Suddenly, machine guns firing are triggered from one of the bushes, and gunfire rained down around Mathias and Neytiri, who are trying to protect themselves and get up to start running. The bullets sometimes verges them very closely. Mathias and Neytiri hide themselves behind a large rock, while that the shooting continue towards them. Several human soldiers, armed and equipped, go out of the bushes and began to shoot on the large rock or the couple is hidden.

(Soldier): "They are here! Shoot them!"

Mathias acknowledged the soldiers of the RDA. Falco surely sent them to kill him, after his betrayal of yesterday. Mathias did not think it would go so quickly, and he blames himself for putting Neytiri in this situation. The soldiers continued to shoot, and the couple remains hidden behind the rock, trying to protect themselves as they can. Neytiri calms down and takes her bow and arrows, and takes a deep breath. On a stealth sudden, she shoots an arrow and pierces one of the soldiers in the stomach. The man groaned in pain and falls to the ground, dead. Mathias is really impressed.

(Mathias): "Wow. Nice shot."

(Neytiri): "Thank you."

Seeing what happened to their teammate, the human soldiers begin to disperse and hide behind trees or rocks, to protect themselves from the arrows of Neytiri, while continuing to shoot with their weapons. Suddenly one of the soldiers threw a grenade towards the tree of voices. The grenade exploded right next to the trunk, and the tree is half destroyed and caught fire. The flames begin to devour the tree, and Neytiri is horrified by seeing this. Mathias is also horrified to see that, and he decided to react. He had keep his human weapon with him, and under the influence of anger, he began to shoot on the human soldiers. Mathias has shot down one of the soldiers, with a shot in the head. But the soldiers are too many, and the couple has no chance against them. Neytiri remains motionless, shocked to see the tree of voices burning. A soldier then threw another grenade, but this time towards the rock or the couple is hidden. Mathias noticed and grabs Neytiri by the shoulder.
