Chapter 4: Painful Past

While his avatar is asleep in the fortress of the Na'vi, Mathias awakes in his human body, in the laboratory of the base of the RDA. When he opens his eyes, he sees that Nora looks and tries to wake him up. The young woman is reassured that Mathias is still alive. The young man is a bit groggy because he stayed very long in his avatar and he is not yet accustomed to stay as long. Nora and another scientific help Mathias to get up and out of the box binding. Nora brings a glass of water and let Mathias get back to his senses a few seconds before speaking.

(Nora): "Mathias, are you okay? It's been some hours we trying to wake you up, but the link with your avatar is so strong that it was impossible."

(Mathias): "I was with soldiers in the jungle of Pandora, but......"

(Nora): "We know. Another patrol has discovered the bodies, they have not survived. When they noticed your disappearance, Falco was immediately notified and he ordered his troops to find you. How is your avatar?"

(Mathias): "It's okay. But if I tell you the place where I fell asleep you will never believe me."

(Falco): "Hmmmm......It can turn to our advantage."

(Mathias): "How?"

(Falco): "Perfect."

In the morning, Mathias went with Neytiri in the forest to begin his apprenticeship. With her, the young Na'vi queen took a bow, arrows, and two of those strange horses, that the Na'vi call Pa'li, and they seem rather tame. They arrive in a small secluded valley, the ideal place to learn quietly. Some Hexapods eat the grass peacefully but fled when the group arrives in the plain.
