Since the day she received her Nichirin sword, she has accomplished many missions by herself. Of course, always bringing Tanjiro along in the box Urokodaki gave her. Currently, she was feeling hungry and was looking for a town to buy some food, but knew she wasn't alone.
"I said I didn't want to be rude, but I've already told you, I am not interested!" Nezuko shouted.
"Wow, how did you know I was here?" The blonde boy walked out from behind a tree. Tanjiro growled to himself in the box. Even though he was a demon, he still had his protective older brother's senses. Too bad, it was still too light out for him to beat up the guy.
"How could I not? You've been following me for days! You keep asking me to marry you, and I keep saying I am not meant to be your wife, can't you understand that?"
"But you're strong! You survived the final selection, and you're beautiful. I promise to cook for you every day when you marry me. If we were already engaged, you wouldn't be looking for food right now~" He teased.
"The sun is going to set soon, you should probably go back home and rest before you're assigned a mission."
They talked for a while as they walked. At that point, Nezuko forgot about her hunger and tried to get away from him; she didn't want to keep her brother in the box forever either. She always had to wait for the boy to fall asleep for Tanjiro to come out, but she was tired of him and wanted to get away. She insisted desperately for him to leave only to get a flirty reply.
"I told you I am not-! AH WHAT IN THE WORLD!?" Nezuko questioned, looking at the gigantic demon in front of them. She was so focused on the guy she didn't notice the sun had set.
"What is a demon this big doing in the middle of nowhere!?" The boy exclaimed.
"I got this, stay back!" Nezuko yelled.
"Ok! Wait- no! LET ME PROTECT YOU!" He pushed her out of the way when she was in mid-attack, causing her to hit the sandy ground painfully. Tanjiro hit his head against the box when she fell, but it didn't injure him.
"HOW'S THAT YOUR WAY TO PROTECT ME!?"
"AH- I DIDN'T MEAN TO-"
He let his guard down, and the demon almost slashed him to pieces with his giant claws, but someone decapitated him before he could do any harm. The demon's body fell loudly, making dirt dust the air. The demon slayers coughed and closed their eyes in reaction. When the air was cleared, they could see their savior—a boy around her stalkers height, medium black and blue hair, and beautiful visuals.
"This girl saved us? She's so fast!" The blonde whispered to himself in awe.
"I'M NOT A GIRL, IDIOT!" The boy snapped back.
'Eek! She heard me!'
"T-thank you for saving us; we were a bit distracted and-"
"I can tell. This moron here gave his back to a demon and almost cost him his life. Honestly, how did you even survive final selection?"
"Shut up! For your information, I had a lady to protect, and if it meant risking my life, I would gladly do it."
"Don't make up stuff, you got distracted and almost died like he said, own up to it," Nezuko confessed.
"Come on!-" The boy whined. "But what are you doing out here? This place is a ghost town. I was surprised to see a demon in this area."
"This demon ran away from me, and I just happened to find him here. He wasn't strong but very agile; he's dead now, so I'm leaving." He explained. The demon slayer walked away from the two without another word but tripped over nothing, twisting his right leg a little.
